Default Halloween Horns :: The Anti-Fairy Wings - 10-05-2007, 11:47 AM

<333 no beef with the fairy wings, I'm just playing.

Actually, I kinda posted a picture of some of these that I made once in the kitty ears post, but I never really knew how I'd attach them to the head, and then Miss_Gagarin wanted them, but they were packed and it was an old photo so D: Ah! Okay, so I made another pair! And these ones are finished, yay! And they're useable, not just loose and sitting around somewhere.

I hope this doesn't seem like a double post. I have like, four projects going right now, but I just can't seem to get them finished and I was all blaaaah and wanted to post something to feel squeeee and get pats on the head from my forum peepz cause I was feeling all unmotivated. Know what I mean? D:

Send me love! ... and not hate. ;...; hate is bad. Bad hate.

Okay, yeah! So anyway! Sorry I have only my crazy webcam. Usually I fuzz up this girl's face so she doesn't look like a scary mannequin but I don't have a photo editor that I'm used to right now on this new comp. ;....; Okay, enough excuses. Here::

Once again... with the 'pretty' stuff and not the punky stuff. BUT! That's okay, cause someone could TOTALLY make these all dark and like... purple or.... D: HOMG, like... not gold. And without all the wire... But I likes. I don't think it'd feel like a project -I- did without swirlies all over it. And glitter. n...n! Okay, there's no glitter on this.

Thoughts?

Oh, and ya'll probably noticed but I was posting videos of things to help me fill the void of boredom at home while hubby is on sea duty... so if you wanted to see the video for this one, I'll link ::

I do love these! It reminds me of Labyrinth (the David Bowie Muppet-y movie, not Pan's Labyrinth).

What did you use to make the horns? I'll have to watch the vid at work. stupid dial-up at home.

And, I love your twisty wire curls obsession.

Thank you, my dahling! <3 I love how every time I post a project, it's so late here in Magical Hawaii Time and no one is awake but us, so we go back and forth on stuff.

It's just polymer clay. I was wondering, as I was working on them, if I could use some low fire natural clay and do some in the kiln because there is some FAB fab FAB glazing something at the art center that creates a really metal looking gold finish. Shiny as DOOM. It might be kinda cool but... uh.... yeah. Like... I thought they might be kinda heavy. And stabby (also 'of doom'.)

And when I made these, the first time I put one horn on, it was on a little tipped like, so I needed to fix it. I had been worried that the horns might be too heavy as is and maybe fall, right? But when I tried to get it off to fix it, m'lord! I almost broke the damn headband before I FINALLY pried the horn off. No worries about just affixing with glue... Even though I reinforced the horn using more wire (the ones that look like they're coming up from the hairline, not the horn) I dont think it was necessary at all. I think JUST glue would have done it.

But I dunno about you, but I always feel odd about using hot glue on things I sell or give to people. Is that just me? Or does hot glue seem like a cheapo thing to use? True, it pretty much is a multi-purpose, handy sticky... but it seems... dunno. "Low class". Why does poor hot glue have this reputation?! ;....; poor glue... it just does its job so well that it's been so overused...

omg, it's like in The Matrix. By the time the second Matrix came out, that freeze/camera rotate trick had been SO overused, it made the movie seem tired and cheap. Know what I mean?

... Omg, I just compared glue and The Matrix.

I wish I had tacos and could just go to bed. It's late. warrrrrr. Your taco talking has me all tummy grumbly.

(oh yeah-- and thank you! <3 Going back to your skirts to see if you've replied. XD)

Aw, thanks, Babe. Green apples to you. <3 Um, I dunno. Honestly, you'd be sorta surprised. At least on the internet. It's hard to get advertisement. But if you go somewhere, like to an art faire or something... then, eh... I've made like, 300$ plus a day on stuff like this. <3 yay! But yeah... on the internet... it's like.... I have cobwebs in my shop. XD

I love them!! Y'know, if you haven't had said that was a mannequinn (sp?) I would have thought it was real, okay I just re-read that and now I know why people call me a QUOTE ''freakin' blondey''.

But, it's all good. Cuz I think I know what I am going to be for halloween!!! I don't really know the name of it though. Just something with horns!

A unicorn?--- Ummm, I think not.

Oh I will think of something, yeah.

And GOOD JOB! They look really cool.

omg, wouldn't it be cool if you could dye a color that white and not have a giant, damaged puffball on your head?

hehheh, unicorn. Hey! Since we all know Halloween is for dressing slutty and getting away with it, you could make some dark colored horns and use the recent wing tutorial and bend the wings in a bat shape (so only use one on each side rather than two) and then wear some super red lipstick and flash the cleavage and call yourself a succubus! XD
