Default HOLY WOW psychedelic green swirly retro full length GLOVES! - 01-19-2009, 08:11 AM

Yeah. Title says it..really..
I found some AMAZING f***ing fabric at the disaster relief thrift store for $1 and said YES YES YES! It was this spandex sort of fabric..not very much of it...perhaps 80 by 60 cm or something? Maybe less?
It sat there in my cupboard for ages and suddenly I realised I needed to make amazing gloves from it.

They're handsewn, and the pattern i made from a pair of wrist length leather gloves I have (Although since they were leather, they had a lot more gussets..I left the gussets out of these cause it's a devastatingly stretchy fabric) the machine probably would have gone crazy and eaten this fabric so I had to do it by hand.

so yeah..that's about it. They're pretty damned useless..but I think I needed something this crazy in my wardrobe.. I love them.
And yes..I did ctrl c this post from Craftster, I couldn't be bothered writing it twice!

Hell yeah, of course you needed that fabric!
I've been toying with making some gloves or lengthy gauntlets for an upcoming do, now I really want to.
Like your dress/collar too.

The collar is based off Corrine's..
and the dress is bought (I got it before I could sew..it's practically the only dress I've seen for sale that actually fitted...all the other ones are screwy)

Those are really cute! I love the fabric~

If duct tape, a band aid, superglue, or safety pins can't fix it, you have a big problem.

I want to find that book, dust if off, and read it again.
There was hope in the end.

Oh man. Oh man. Those are just that cool. They must have been super hard, too, (and they were handsewn!) so kudos for that!
