Hey evryone! my school has uniforms and I have to wear tights or knee high socks. Now that the weathe is getting colder, I've been wearing stockings almost everyday, which is great and all, except for one problemo..... RIPS!!!!!
I have ripped soooo many tights in the past few years...its unbelievable! So, I was just wondering if tehir was anything I could do with the ripped tights. I could never wear them again because i dont think I could fix them, but maybe you guys have something coool and fashion-y /diy-ish ( gotta luv the new words ) that I could make with all of them. Oh, and by the way, the tigths are all blue-sih and blackish.......just in case that matters. Luv ur show!

I remember when I was a kid we read the book, "Jilian Jiggs and her Wonderful Pigs" or something like that. It had instructions to make a pig out of tights, which she used all kinds of colors for. I think they're cute

You might get more responses if you post this in the Questions forum.

Something I learned from fellow dancers: cut a hole/slit in the crotch and cut off the feet. You now have a super tight, depending on what you wear it with pretty snazzy looking sweater-bolero-shrug thing.

Or you can make fingerless gloves out of them.
Or braid them together and make a rug.
Or tear them apart and use them as crazy applique pieces to your creations.

You could do all kinds of things with them. Just be creative! My mind starts off in all sorts of directions: scarves, curtain ties, pillows, yarn.........all sorts of things! Just experiment.

One thing I've always thought looked awesome is really counter-intuitive, but you cut more holes in your tights. They look funky and awesome, like this picture I found on t_shirt_surgery:



Of course, this could be totally not you style, but it was an idea. Otherwise, you could use them to make fairy wings using one of last year's halloween videos.

I've found that most of my tights rip in the thighs, but the part from the knee-down are still good. You can cut them, and roll the tops to make "kneesocks."

I also think it might be worth trying a lettuce edge or a fancy elastic at the top of the kneesocks - I've been wanting to try this!

A girl I used to go to school with used to wear two pairs of hole-y tights at the same time - It looks very funky, could you get away with that?

i wish...... but my skool is pretty strict about that
