Default Things To Do With Clearence Jeans - 07-16-2007, 05:34 AM

I always run into The Gap, looking for some cheap jeans in the bargain bin, and never have a tough time finding that decent pair, but they always tend to be the worthless hole ridden pre-ripped junk jeans. I always but them, for 10 bucks or less why not, but I always hate going out in them, I feel like a goof with giant holes in the knees. Not to mention that I can't put them on because my foot always seems to find its way out of the hole in the knee.

So, my question ThreadBangers, help a clothing retarded person: What can I possibly do with those junky jeans?

If I were you, I would buy a pair thats a simular color to those you just got but for way cheaper (go to like GoodWill your bound to find somethere) and just cut the knees out of those cheaper pair, and patch those holes up.

And if you cant find em or are like me, don't want to pay for 2 pairs to just have one cut up, I would suggest cutting up anything you feel is patch worthy (that you found in your closet) for them and just patch em up.

Or you could even skip the middle man and sew em up.

Millions of ideas man! Just so little time!

Hoped I kinda helps out bro.

Well the thing I like about Gap is that they fit me perfectly. They nailed the sizing down pat, but just have to gouge holes in them.

While the patch idea is simple, I think its over used and would love something original.

Ummm... a patch under the hole so that it keeps the frayed edges without the silly hole.

As for something original... I don't know.

How about instead of patching just the hole, sew a band of fabric around the whole outside of the pant leg, like a big stripe (and some on the inside as well to keep your foot from getting caught there). Or maybe you could mend it with some unorthodox materials, like aluminum mesh/mini-rings. You could always change them to shorts depending where the hole is. I don't know. Do something ridiculous and take a picture of it. It's not going to be truly original unless it comes from your imagination. Good luck!

But at the moment, I have ZERO ideas. I do like your stripe idea. My only issue is, I've always been the jeans and a t-shirt kid. Nothing fancy, just what ever is clean. As soon as I start wearing some outlandish stuff, people will be confused. But, sooner later then never huh? I can deal. I'm going to make a fabric store run and attempt to find something interesting I can play with.

Well, I personally hate pre-worn jeans. Especially since the holes are usually in odd places, have obvious stitching around them, and just look... Silly.

Now, I love a nice pair of worn-in, holey jeans, but store bought is just odd.

Buy two pairs, turn one into shorts, and use the leftovers to patch up the other?

Or, the easiest way to deal with this? Get a pair of light sweats or pyjama pants, and wear them underneath. I did that all winter to keep my knees toasty!

Coffee stole my idea of making one pair into shorts

And I had a boyfriend many many years ago that had a pair of white slashed jeans (I think he wore 'em out) that were indecently cut - he wore white sweats under 'em and they looked really awesome. Then again, I liked the 80s-held-together-by-a-thread look....

Get kilt pins and pin them together. You can get them with greach charms or you can make your own charms. Best of all they pretty cheap.
