Lightbulb :: EASY :: Fake Blood Tutorial - 10-05-2008, 10:32 AM

So we made this blood up very much trial and error. We made it for the Brisbane Zombie Walk earlier this year. Because we'd been cooking it up on the stove in a massive pot, when we poured it on ourselves it was warm like real blood!

Icky!

I don't have the exact measurements, but just mix bits of the ingredients in, using commmon sense.

Ingredients
Cornstarch
Glucose Syrup ((Get a few jars))
Red food colouring ((We got a large bottle of it))
black food colouring
some warm water

We mixed it all up on a big pot on the stove so it woudl melt everythign and make it easier to mix. You could use a microwave, but be careful + keep an eye on it.

The glucose syrup makes it that really bloody consistancy ((I always thought blood was similar to honey like that)), the corn starch thickens it, the water waters it down, use a fair bit of red food colouring until you get it a nice red colour and a few drops of black will make it look less bright, and more blood red

DON'T pour the mixture onto you when it's hot, make sure you let it cool down first ((Seriously.))

Our Bucket of Blood

We ended up pouring the leftovers in a red cordial bottle to take with us. It looked suspicious!

I'm about to post more pics of our outfits etc on the other thread, but here's some of the blood in use

Me + My sister Betty ((zombie housewives ))

Oh + Ps. It's really tasty too The glucose syrup makes it quite sweet

Let me know if you use this + how you went!

Does it stay on well?

It would be really fun to go to school with that dripping down my face for halloween...

Yeh it stayed on until we had showers that night. We'd been all day outside + then to the after party and it was pretty good

That's looks
blood-licious!

I made some
fake blood for my
Gurololi outfit
but it didn't stay well.

I think I'm going to
use this next time I want
to feel
pretty yet bloody.

[You guys look hot in
that blood. Not gonna
lie]
