I love her and I might be able to get my guy friend to dress up as the Joker and one of my girls to dress up as Poison Ivy and we'll just walk around the mall posing with people I'm sure (The Dark Knight is still going strong in my town I saw it 2 times) and will take tons of pic for you all you know it!

My friend was harley quin when we were in high school, she took two tank tops cut it in half and then made a simple skirt half in black and half in red. It looked really good, and although it wasn't the body suite (which is probably unflattering on most people) it looked really good, and everyone got that she was Harley Quin.
That's my suggestion any how..

Check out Cosplay.com
That site is all about (suprise!) costumes. Just do a costume search for Harley Quinn, there are a lot of people with that costume on there. I have no idea what the best fabric or pattern would be to use, but you should find some people on there who do. And some people who bought their costume. But not everyone has the time/patience to create something theirselves.
Good luck!

cosplay.com would be a good place to check.
I would to have to agree with what someone else said here about taking two tight shirts and sewing them together. You could buy some red and black fabric, not sure what kind but whatever you find comfortable, and then use a pattern for pants and make them skin tight, half red half black. Then with the extra fabric you could sew on the diamonds on the side. That's the only help I can give, but if you do manage to make it, please post pictures. I'd love to see.
=D
Good luck!

you don't have to make a jumpsuit, design a variation like I am for Harley.

SPANDEX! Seriously, that's your best bet as far as fabric goes.
I'd check at your local sewing place for a pattern...unless you want to brave making your own :)

my opinion would be to use leggings and some tight shirts. have some good makeup too also.

Have you heard about the new joker comic that's coming out. I'm really excited to see how harley will be portrayed.
Man i would go with something stretchy, with lots of give for move. try material used for sports wear.

yeah I might go with that maybe go to a thrift store and try to find those pants that have the hoops at the bottom that would work really good.

OMG!!! I am in the same boat as you. I want to go to Comic Con as Harley but haven't been able to think of a way to make the costume. Everyone who as brought up Cosplay.com are on the right track. I visit that site daily. You should also check out http://www.gothampublicworks.com/harley.htm she is the best Harley I have seen thus far. Hope it helps!

The easiest way to replicate this as closely as possible is to find a dancers supply shop (like ballet, tap, jazz). They should have red and black body suits. then chop them up and sew them back together and you can use the extra fabric to make appliques and the hat to finish off the costume.

Spandex spandex spandex! You cant make comic characters without it, trust me, I've seen lots of failed attempts when people try to make costumes with out it.
I also recommend the unitard pattern, kwik-sew makes a great one, and its cheap too.
Another thought is buying two unitards off ebay ( you can get them super cheap) cutting them, and sewing it all back into one peice. I've seen several good Harley costumes made this way. Just ask the seller if you can buy some matching fabric to make the boot covers and the hat out of.

well I think I kinda have it all figured out god I called all over town and only one shop had unitards and it wasn't even Walmart! but they only had Pink, White, and Black so now I'm thinking I can get the Whit and Black go to Walmart get fabric dying dye and dye the White Red smart right
