Sounds like a pretty good idea. I would like to couple this with bleaching beforehand. I think you'd get a great finish that way. Or else maybe some cheap white jeans?

OK, I remember my mom over-dying my Britannia acid-wash skirt back in 1987 (What? Shut up, I'm old...hee.) :p

She used red dye, and for some strange reason all the dark blue parts turned black! It was so awesome and I got compliments on it all the time. My mom was kind-of DIY before it was cool (she'd do stuff like fix the wiring of lamps, too). Maybe I should get her a subscription to ReadyMade or something? Hmm.

OK, so, if you happen to get a hold of cheap 80's acid wash jeans that you can skinny-fy and dye? I HIGHLY recommend trying that. If I remember correctly, it worked best with brighter colors.
