Please READ This whole thing!!
Okay so maybe I'm crazy, but really this kinda sucks. My sister was on Wetseal and they were having this contest where you have to design outfits for these people who won $500 dollar gift certificates. And guess who was one of those people? A girl named Sascha, who not long before, entered the Janome sewing machine contest. I don't know about you guys, maybe I'm crazy, but isn't the point of Threadbanger to design and make one of a kind clothing that's not mass produced in SWEATSHOPS!!! And to think that she was one of the top entries for the Janome contest, when I KNOW there was somebody else who wanted that sewing machine, and then she just goes and totally portrays something else by getting into a contest to get all of those MASS PRODUCED clothes!!! That really makes me wonder how many other frauds, how many other people who entered the Threadbanger contests were actually interested in the concept of DIY or anything. Sorry guys. I had to rant. I'm just really miffed right now.
What do you fellow REAL THREADBANGERS think?

Wait, I'm confuzzled. She entered a contest to get a 500$ gift certificate when she had entered the janome contests before? Maybe she just entered to get free clothes, or just to try and win for the sake of winning.
I apologize if I'm wrong about this, I'm just confused why this is so wrong.

Wow....I havent thought about people doing these kind of things. They should be ashamed of themselves and banned in a way. I would feel really bad if anyone stole my ideas and produced them in sweatshops. Especially if it was someone from threadbangers. This is supposed to be a website where we can share our creativity. We are also trying to help the enviroment by recyling use clothing. Damn that is so rude, mean and cruel. We'd lose our purpose if we sold our ideas to corporations. :(

Wellll let's not jump to conclusions.
I don't think that there is solid proof that this is the same Sascha. Unless I'm mistaken?

Really! There's atleast 10 girls in my school named Sascha or a variation. I mean, how are you 100% sure that this is even the same Sascha?! And for what I'm getting, she entered to win a $500 gift card? So what? I can guarentee you, not everyone or even close makes ALL their clothing. You can be into DIY and still buy regular clothes, you know?
I think it'd be best to calm down and reassess the situation.

And even if in the unlikely chance it WAS her, that is just uncalled for. I don't know if you know, but half the people here create for a living and to sell theiir products to other people. So to try to disown her because she sold a outfit to a company is bogus. As long as it was hers and she didn't steal it, it's fine. Relax...

Relax. Even if it's the same person, it's not really your place or anyone else's to judge her. Everyone can't make everything they wear, I certainly can't. If she can get $500 dollars worth of clothes in a contest, good for her! It really has nothing to do with the Janome contest. Did she even win? Maybe she didn't get the Janome, so needs to get clothes another way. People are allowed to enter all the contests they want.

I just dont know what to think....honestly I'm a little bit confused too.
Wait, I'm confused. So she designed an outfit for a contest and the winner would get their outfit mass produced for and sold by the company? And she has the same name as someone who entered a ThreadBanger contest?
I don't see the big deal. I can make my own clothes but often buy clothes from stores. If I had the chance to have my designs sold by a huge company I would be thrilled. In fact, I need to hire people to make some of my stuff since I can't possibly make every single thing with my own two hands. Doesn't make me less of a real ThreadBanger, I don't think...

Yea, that's the thing, just because it's made by someone else doesn't make it automatically anti-threadbanger.

Well surely I wouldn't file a claim without evidential support. I compared the videos, and not only does the chick look exactly the same, but so does her house. . . and voice. Coincidince? I think not.

I couldn't have said it any better. I can see how you would be miffed about it, however its not in any places of ours to judge her, criticize her, ban her...etc. I'm a huge supporter of DIY, but most of my clothes have to come from somewhere else. Lastly about her original design being mass produced, I have one word for you.... Threadless. Just chill darling.

Hi, watching this thread...if it gets a little too hostile I may have to delete/lock it.
I don't wanna get ahead of myself here, but yeah, there seems to be a bit of controversy and I want to respect it.
I can see where there's a lot of different strong opinions on this one...just try to "play fair" with your argument, and I think it should be cool.

Jesus, who cares? I'd LOVE for my things to be produced like that! Plus it's probably only a limited line. What do you think most designers do? Hand make all their stuff themselves? I think not. Maybe someone's jealous?...

ok this is a ton of crap ...
1. you have no real prof it is her .. or that she enterend such thing
2. it is like corrine entering project runway ...
3. it is none of your buisness people can do what ever they want and they don't need to get crap from others

Ok, so I went to the wetseal website to see what all the fuss is about. The contestants had to enter a video of why they need a back to school makeover. That's it. Then some people (I believe from the company) put together a wardrobe (from their existing clothing line) for the top five entries. Last, people vote for their favorite entry based on the video and the wardrobe. The winner gets the gift card. So it has nothing to do with mass producing a contestant's design. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Sooo, it's pretty much the same as entering a competition on here.

Unfortunately, I think it's time for this thread to die.
Folks, I'm gonna lock this thread. I think it's run its course.
