revised Harley Quinn?

Mmkay, so I want to be Harley Quinn really badly for Halloween, but if I can't make the costume the traditional way, i was wondering if it would be cool if I updated her a little bit like they did with The Joker in The Dark Knight (that's what my boyfriend is gonna be). Any thoughts?

depends on what direction you want to go. the makeup for the joker was more cynical. do you want to go in the other direction and be more precise and sexy? (to contrast with your boyfriend but still have an opposites attract vibe?)

in terms of clothing, go darker on the colors. black obviously but a darker almost blood red.

I found this on the internet too for some inspiration. I don't really like the face but the top works rather well.

Why can't you do the traditional Harley?

Go with the traditional face paint, but use that top in the picture. As for pants uh..... I don't know. Definately paint the diamonds on your neck like the picture.

I was thinking just some red and black skinny jeans. just keep it simple and modern. also, layers layers layers.

when I was Harley a couple years ago... [[shrug]] that was my take at the time. i would keep her from being too dark, because being bubbly is part of harley's personality! she's never sinister.

i want to go to a costume party dressed as harley (my boyfriend as the joker of course:D), and i have a few ideas.
- i want to make a short fitted dress, using the "slack dress" video tutorial, with the color scheme just like the original outfit.

- like the "slack dress" is strapless i was thinking about making a long sleeve shrug, a really simple one, just a rectangle and sew the sides the lenght your arms are (i don't know if i explain it well, i speak spanish)

- i want to buy pantyhoses, 1 red and 1 black and cut one leg from each to wear them together... but maybe i'll just wear black ones...because i don't know how is it going to look...

- and a plus, i have 2 pair of shoes that are identical, but 1 pair red and one pair black, lucky me :p

for the head i don't know what to do yet, maybe just a headband with the pointy thingies attached to it, and making the black mask.
