that one's a bit big... keep the head measurement the same but make the outer edges a bit smaller.
also, a felt, wool, or other such material would be better for what you want than that floppy fabric she used.

i love berets, i bought a really nice one from topshop, fitted perfectly which is why i paid £12 for it.
then i went out in town on a bit of a bender dressed as a mime, got beer allover it, put it in the washing machine and it felted and shrunk :(
