Well I was thinking about the latest how to tuesday...I wonder if you would get any interesting tan lines from them slits.

Guess my girlfriend will have to get use to the tiger stripe tan lines.:p

It would suck to have tan lines like that. Most people were another shirt under it which defeats the purpose of the ventilation.

I think I may have a solution to this problem....

I will try it, make a video, and inform you if it works.

considering sun inclination (direct overhead) and personal movement, i doubt any noticible effects will be encountered to a level aforementioned. unless you decide to remain motionless wearing said shirt to earn your stripes, i suggest one consults their genderous priorities and dons a wifebeater or a bikini top or whathaveyou to possibly ne'er a top to mention.

Very good point superdoofus, but for those who still feel that they will get the tan lines, here is my video to help with it.

DBXP, you need to get yourself a lamp or two! I'm not sure that I like the add on you showed in the video. By adding an extra layer, your kind of defeating the purpose.

I wish there was a less destructive way of making a ventilated shirt. I'm a lifeguard, and normally I just ditch the shirt to stay cool, but then no one knows I'm the lifeguard (believe it or not, sitting next to the First-Aid Kit and watching the pool is not enough of a sign.) so being able to wear my shirt that has LIFEGUARD spread across it in 1000 size font (not joking.) (http://i19.tinypic.com/5yhja80.jpg) would be nice, but I can't destroy the shirt with the slits, or my boss might get angry with me .(and personally I don't really like the look.) Not to mention the fact that they decided that a large would be a great size for me, regardless of my request for a small.

Heh, Barnes, what about tailoring the shirt down to your size as shown on the easy tailoring vid? :) Your boss shouldn't be angry for making it the right size. Unless they vreuse your shirts when you quit... O.o

I don't plan on quitting. I suppose I could try to tailor it. The last time I sewed was in HSCS (Home-Ec) in middle school. 8th grade. Considering I'm still only 16, its not that long ago. I'll give it a shot some time. Once I get my new workbench finished.

I actually just got some lamps yesterday.

But the point of it is how to wear the extra layer, but still have it work. It still ventalaits and is very soothing on those hostal days.

And if you're a life gaurd you should probably be wearing body armor for surfers in the first place. Thats what all the lifegaurds I know wear, and it's d*mn comfertable if you're in and out of water!

There is no less destructive way to make a ventilated t-shirt. What I would do if I were you is ask your boss to see if you could cut holes around the LIFEGAURD logo. You know, cut the shirt normally, but don't cut the logo(s). Or just get that body armor and get LIFEGAURD put on it.

You gotta have atleast one friend or family who knows how to sew, and ThreadBangers has a tutorial on how to do it, so I don't see a proble really.

are you allowed to just cut off the sleeves? well not just the sleeves, most of the side of the shirt! b/c that is what i wear to soccer, and it really works!

If you wore the shirt enough you might get some form of tan lines. Factualy most likely you wouldn't because the slits would shade the openings below unless the shirt is skin tight.♥
