Thanks! I'm still working on figuring out patterns. This one is an "Easy Blythe Dress" but I thought it was kind of fiddly to work with.

Next Test Garment - A party dress - pattern adapted from a Skipper pattern, by Melissa Cabral. I like this pattern the best so far. I bet I could even fold down pleats instead of doing a gather.
I sewed it all by hand - it helps me figure out a pattern better.

I only learned to hand-sew b/c my mom wouldn't let her touch her sewing machine when I was a kid (she didn't want me to throw off the tension, or sew thru my finger.)
Oh, and I'm DEFINITELY sewing the next one by machine. I'm just very stupid at reading patterns. If I go slower I figure it out better.
