I got the hankering to learn basic skills, so I used a pattern to make this basic t-shirt from scratch. I tried something with the collar, but it didn't work, so I'mleaving it as is until I get another bright idea. What do you guys think?

I do like the color, but the collar does need work. Id say making that split into more of a loop and add a button where the two peices meet. or do a v-neck :]

maybe some hems on the edges to keep it clean?

Cute so far! Better than I'd do (I goof up sleeves).
You could cut it into a v-neck and lettuce edge the v-neck. I love lettuce edging!

It fits you well and the colors are great. I actually like the neckline as is. I generally don't like t-shirts that come all the way up to my neck so I habitually cut off the ribbed band and end up with a more rounded neckline.

Excellent suggestions all. I tried hemming the neckline but the fabric is so lightweight that hemming made the neckline so heavy, it drooped all funny. :( So, somehow, I have to finish the neckline without adding weight.
