I dyed my hair BLLLUUUUUUEEEE!

...which actually isn't as good as it sounds...

Schools in a week right? So yeah...

It was supposed to be Blue-Black, and the picture looked like it'd be more black than blue...which was very wrong...

And so many other things are wrong with it...

But I kinda like it...so I dunno what I should do...

I'll post some pics tomorrow sometime and see what you think I should do..

I need to know if I should dye it back, just shave it off, or leave it...

Everyone I know with dark hair who wants dark blue highlights or frosted tips or whatever they're called always ends up with stripes of bright cotton-candy-blue in their hair. I'm not sure why.

I hear dying hair black will make it a lot more black than natural black, which I personally think looks good on some people.

Well mine kinda turned out to be dark blue...which sucks big donkeys...

And in some cases it does and it doesn't, depends on the stuff you dye it with.

Yeah I'm working on the walls...

But my hair is somewhat of a blue/black/purple combo and under softlight it's black, under fluresent it's blue, and under soft fluresent (my room) it's somewhat purple...

The fact my camera sucks doesn't help any matter I know...

Oooh it looks really cool regardless of what color it looks like.
I think the blue black/natural black thing has to do with warm/cool colors.
I dye my hair natural black and once I did my roots with blue black (thinking, "none more black" or whatever) and the colors really are different!

(I really should make something so I can post it. I keep posting on these random ones but that's not very productive...)

...I seriouslly am feeling it's blue...

Is it really black to you guys?

I think the only reason I can tell is because I have been behind either photoshop or a paintbrush for the last...many years...So I can notice differences in colors much easier than most...

No, I can totally see that it's blue. But if it looks different in different light sources - You Should Totally Keep It!!!

Then you could keep people guessing.
For instance:
Attractive person No.1: "Hey that kid's cute... omg is his hair blue?"
AP No.2 friend of AP No.1: "Wow I wonder what he's like. Why would he choose that color?"
AP No.1: "We should go talk to him."
AP 2: "We so have to."
AP 1: "Hello stranger."

And bam! Instant new friend. It could be like a fairytale.

Please consider keeping it.

Speaking of mohawk, you've gotta see my son's hairstyle...

But I like the blue. It's not the bright blue I was expecting from your first post, it's more of a dark blue (at least in the picture) and I think that's interesting. I like it. :)

^^^Yay! Truly a BabyHawk! v. cute

I like the dark blue. I'd buzz it so more light hits it and reflects it. You keep griping about how "ugly" you are (uh, you're not, but whatever)... do you have an evenly shaped skull? Sometimes having a well-shaped non bumpy skull goes a long way with buzzcuts.

I was expecting something like royal blue or electric blue. It is definitaly a blue based black, but it's not that bad. The thing is unless you go for another shade of black, you won't be able to get another color. Well, I dye my hair black and tried to bleach them a bit to go back to my natural dark brown. Well all I did was bleaching the roots to orange (pic here so you can see the disaster)... the black-dyed hair stayed black :(. Still, for a ugly guy, the bluish black suits your face pretty well, and you hair are short, so I'd deal with it until the next cut :p

Riiiiight, I'M NOT UGLY thats a funny right there :D... it's not really that even, but it's close enough really. I mean I have a few bumps here and there but like they are hardly noticable at all unless you actaully decide to touch my head.

Yeah, I can see where it could be very missleading. And I am probably going to get the darker black sometime next week if it doesn't fade out a little bit.

Since you have such a strong dye colour in your hair if you're wanting to get it back to brown you would have to use a level 40 peroxide on the ends and a lv. 20 on the roots. the only problem is that since it is such a strong peroxide level it will fry any damaged ends on your hair, so a cut is usually needed to get rid of the damage. and that is the only way to get black dye out of your hair without shaving you're whole head.

ps. to DBXP permanent black dye with a blue tint is going to look very blue under some light and very black under others. Its part of the fun of getting dyes with colour pigments like green blue and purple. I would personally keep it, but if you are that concered about it (which I percieved from your posts) then you would have to dye it a more of a matte black which you usually find in semi-permanent dyes. then you'll just have to wait till it grows out before you can any other colour (I wouldn't recomend bleach, your hair is too short and it would burn like all hell)

The only reason I care so bad is because my school district isn't the most fair in the system.

They would label it a "distraction" Yeah quite little ol' me is a distraction just because of my hair, but then you got girls (and one or two guys I know) who dye red, pink, and sometime purple strands in their hair and all they do it mouth off during class...

those are usually the people that make the school systems hate anything vearing to far from conformity. the rest of us arent that bad. I went to a catholic school where kilts (for girl) and ties in the school colours were manditory. everything was uniform from shoes to winter wear. if your hair was too long it had to be tied back, and gold/silver stud earings were the only jewlery allowed.

I didn't agree with the school rules so I dyed my hair green and purple (along with a few other friends doing somthing different in their own way) and refused to change it. I had to cave when a 3 month suspension was threatened. but in the end they did lax the jewlery and hair tied back policy. (small win :P)

One, fauxhawks are the bad kind of gay.

Not the good kind.

Secondly, any mohawk is better than any fauxhawk, this is because the fauxhawk is a poseur hairstyle.

As much as I love true mohawks, the fauxhawks do deserve some love. ecspecially in the female community faux is better then mo (in most cases, some girls can just wear an awsome mohawk) for me the faux with my hair slicked back on the sides looks better then when I had a real mohawk.

Wow, that seems unnecessarily rude. It's a friendly conversation on a friendly DIY forum. No need for that. Whether you believe that or not you might want to keep that kind of bashing to yourself...

Besides, the fauxhawk was good enough for David Beckham and millions of women think he's hot.

Well, y'know, there is a good kind of gay.

That's the kind where people are attracted to members of the same gender.

And The more people you have, the less relevant their views are. That's why everything popular sucks!

I would still have my hawk if my school didn't have a bug up their ass about it, but sadly they do so its either a fauxhawk or no hawk at all.

And regardless of what it is, you must agree any hawk is better than no hawk at all.

You are aware of the fact that is the "greater than" sign right?

So by the way you said it it's like you're saying no hawk is better than a fauxhawk, which is better than a mohawk.

What you mean is nohawk < fauxhawk < mohawk :p.

I shave occasionally.

For a while, I was spending (relatively) large amounts on my hair, getting it trimmed and thinned every six weeks or so, but lately I've been either growing my hair out, or shaving it myself.

I invested in an electric shaver kit, and I've been very happy with it!

I looked like Wayne Static without the beard :D:p. Do a google search for Wayne Static and take off about 4-5 inchs and that was my hair exactally:D!

Then I did the mohawk thing, but my hair was so used to going all over the place and not toward the center. So now I'm doing the fauxhawk to recover from all that.
