 I just my check for the last month and supposedly out of the 30 plus hours I've done...I'm only being paid for less than five hours of work.

This is the second time there have been problems with my check...and I even talked to my supervisor about my concerns about the upcoming check cuz of the number of the months i used. :( He said they would only count the hours. And lookie here. Out of the $300 that I'm suppose to have, I only have a check worth $60...

:confused:I know that HIV/AIDs work is NOT a field to get loads of money. I am aware of that, it's a CALLING... But to carelessly handle my only living money twice in a row is unexceptionable. I'm not a volunteer anymore going to the clubs ever so often to dance and sometimes outreach. I'm doing professional work that requires proper compensation...
SMURF  I'm been eating smurfing canned food for the past month just because of the first mess up and I can already see it is affecting my health. School is coming up and I can't even by my books for my classes. My previous money account is still locked because of safety precautions...so i have $300 or so stuck in may account out of my reach till the 15th of next month.

Being poor kinda sucks... though...then again you get use to it. I really need to start a alteration and clothing store online...I so need something healthier than my current situation.

anyway, thats all...

I sympathise with you, I had to use my investments to live since I've gone back to university, and now I'm living just with the money I can put aside during my internships, my student loans from the gov. and my student line of credit... So sea food and great steaks are not exactly on my menu either. And I don't like tofu (i tried many times).

I believe we can (you, and me and all of us in that situation) live through it though, for we are not the first ones there, are we?? You'll manage to get that online store ;)

haha true true. But still, it's a bit of a worry, especially since I really want to move out soon.

Oh, that SUCKS. Damn that's so unfair. I don't know why some employers seem to forget that their employees need to LIVE. Jeebus.

Do they have apartment sales in SF? I know my one friend, when she was living in NYC, had an Apartment Sale where she and a friend sold a bunch of handmade jewelry. If I remember correctly, they made a decent amount of $$.

That way, you wouldn't have to shell out the dough to set-up an online shop or fiddle around with the post office and that sorta crap.

I'm glad to know you feel me on this.

haha OMG rent here in the bay is outrageous. My friend is paying over $2,000 a month for a two bedrooms just here in San Jose. I seriously would need 3+ roommates.

As for apartment sells, I'd have to organize my busy schedule around something like that. That's why I love flea markets on the weekends :P

Wow, that really sucks :( Are you living in an apartment as well?

All I can say is, if they're treating you like crap, you've gotta quit, or at least threaten. The fact that it's affecting your health means it's gone too far. You can always go somewhere else. Being employed is a contractual business relationship. They need to hold up their end if you've held up yours. You don't owe them any extra kindness.
