this is a tote bag that i made out of fused plastic target bags that i sewed together. it was pretty easy to make. i learned out how to fuse the bags from an etsy-how-to video. Im going to be making more of these in the future and most likely selling some on etsy.com .

~have a nice day diy-ing! :D

Nice bag... I'm not trying to discourage your creativity but I've read on other discussion threads that you shoudn't sell items with another company's logo... like the target symbol. It's not that you don't own the bag but you don't own the logo. Does that make sense? I wouldn't want you to get sued by Target for trying to be eco-friendly.

really good advice. i read a post somewhere (might've been here... i forget, lol) about someone selling stuff made from target bags who actually got a letter from the big-wig target HQ saying pretty much stop selling stuff with our logo on it or we'll sue you. that would definitely not be a good thing :(

it's a really cute bag though! you did a great job on it :) i say keep making them, but keep them for yourself, or give them to your friends and family :D

I tried to do the fused bag thing & couldn't quite get it right. My bags either shrank super fast with holes in them or didn't melt at all. any tips?

it could be because you are using not as many bags as you should, i found that 8-ply is good and less shrinkable. it also might be the type of bag you are using, target bags are somewhat thicker than grocery bags. grocery bags shrink more than target bags. also, it might be shrinking if your iron is on too high of a setting, make sure not to keep the iron in one place for too long, keep it moving!
i hope this helped! good luck on future fusing!

im not sure if it would be a safe idea to sell the tote bags on etsy or not from some of the responses that i have gotten in the past. should i sell them on etsy or would i be sued?

Ugh, I don't know if you would be sued... that is a good question. But sorry, I'm not a lawyer. But it does look really cool! Which video did you learn from?

target sells these. i saw them yesterday... i was happy for the attempt at eco friendliness, but i was like... youre making people pay for bags that they turned in at your store to recycle?? what a rip off!!

I probably would have sent them back a letter telling them to bite me. Then I would have stopped making them. I mean *cough cough* not because I was afraid of them or anything *cough* :p

And yes, I agree...cute bag! Good job!
