my sharpie/bleach tees

HOW DID I ONLY SEE THIS THREAD NOW!? *le sigh* I'm not a fan of the orange bleach (unlike hybridmonkey :P) but I do like the read bleach. I like the more simple designes and I like how you use colors to exentuate the focal point (shoot. Somebodys been listening in art class). I like all your purple shirts.

What I've noticed was when you use deep colors (like that purple one above) it spreads a bit through the whole shirt. so that peacock(sp?) one is tinted purple, it doesn't look bad but its just something you should look out for when you do other shirts. Also on one or two other shirts I noticed a finger print.. naughty naughty.. now put your gum on your noes and sit in the corner and think about what you did.


Why don't you ever do the sleaves?

Good, I thought your shirts came out purple (happened to me, I learned never to wash clothing with wet marker.. its a good tip). I didn't think cameras would do that but I guess they can.

Maybe I'm blind or I could have been looking at a spot on the shirt to long and saw something (I like the drippy look on some of the shirts). Makes sence, centered never fails.. sometimes.

Every shirt i looked at got my jaw to drop and I "ooo"ed and "aww"ed at every one :) Each piece has soemthing unique to it and keeps the eyes staring, which is great and really shows your level as an artist. Gotta tell ya, im so impressed!! i bet those shirts would sell like hot cakes anywhere. or even cooler, you should do these on large canvas, people will eat those up too! even local bands would pay just to get a doodle with their band name on it. you'll get far with your art, im sure!!

There isnt much i can say about these besides wow. These are incredible designs. are there any stencils or is it all freehand? I think you could go somewhere with these for sure. as far as an update goes....WELLLLL
im going back to school for my 2nd year in about a week and ive finalized about 4 designs to be printed through Urban Outfitters, however, printing is going to be a bit delayed due to the company's hold theyve just put on the artist line :[ i was a bit bummed about the news but soon enough itll happen, most likely right after christmas time. Ive been trying all sorts of stuff and im sorry I havent updated more often, i just havent had the time!!!! I actually did make a batch of around 150 shirts (4 designs printed, not handmade) that i sold locally and im pretty much fresh out, but strongly considering doing it again in the near future.

so, this all started last year when i decided to see how fabric sharpie would work if i used it to draw on some plain white tees...
then i started making more and more and more and right now ive made around 45 shirts (i can post more pics if you want), selling some to my friends and stuff. Not much sewing involved, but i thought it would be cool to show what ive been doing with some clothing pens and clorox bleach pens. id actually like to start a serious online business with these soon. hope ya like!

amazing job. Have you tried copic markers at all? I like the ones with the brush tip. I have done a combination oF marker and embroidery on canvas and linen, but nothing on t-shirts. Do you press Freezer paper on the back to reduce stretch?
