I took the tips from the coffee jeans episode and used them to distress my own old jeans. I didn't use coffee as I didn't have any (this was a spare of the moment type thing) so used bleach, but I went a little over board and one of the pockets turned out white, so i cut up a two dollar bandana and sewed it over the top, and I'm fairly happy with them.
So long story shirt these are my jeans! (I added them as attachements as I dont have a photo hosting account anywhere)

Nicely done. Indeed.
Wow, those are pretty sweet, better than what you'd find at hot topic. What color were they originally? How long did you let them soak? The bleach idea intrigues me.

Yeah i love cheap bandana they're great for patterned fabric, and thanks everyone for your kind words:)
Nath: The jeans were/still are a light grey color, I used the belach not so much to make them and entirely different shade but just to make them look more faded and worn.
So I didn't actually soak them, I just used some watered down bleach and a spounge. Although I squeezed a lot ot if out of the spouge so it wasn't soaked when I put it on. Then pretty much threw them in a bucket and rinsed them out immediately; if I had left the bleach on for much longer I think it would of ruined them.
Mine turned out pretty thrashed but that's what I was going for. If you wanted a more natural look maybe try soaking them in a solution with more water in it than bleach, but i wouldn't know for how long.
Or, you know, maybe ask someone with more experience than me :)
There been a post about bleacking and another one about what to do with ugly blue jeans with some good suggestions there for lightening jeans so maybe check them out if you want more sound advice.

I like how the cuts are. What did you use to make them?

For the longish cuts I still used a cheese grater (the side that looks like little bullet holes) but I put the jeans over the side of a table and grated against the edge making them thin and long as opposed to just randomchunks out of the jeans.

ive rubbed a pair side to side for a long time against some rocky cement until wears away enough slowly to have that awesome white horizontal stringy look, gets your hands blue though o_0

Yup they're hand sewed, I just cut the bandana to size (about 1 cm bigger all around than the pocket) folded the edges of the bandana to try and prevent fraying and went at it with a thread and needle, sewing it over the original pocket.

I'm using this and another project on the forums to make jean bermuda/board shorts for my spring vacay! I'm experimenting with 66% bleach in a spray bottle. It's working out pretty well for a natural wear look...
