I swear never to pay more then $3-$5 on a ball of yarn.

Since I am a knitter I really don't see the hubbob about LYS(local Yarn Stores). The yarn I am looking for is never in stock and they have been known to overprice their yarn way to much.

One time I was in this store in Austin and they wanted $12 for one small ball of grey yarn. Unless it was taken from some sort of mythalogical animal or spun by a virgin. I don't believe it has to be $12!

The patterns I am desiging for the 2008 diy factory fashion are made with regular red heart yarn or bernet yarn. I am trying to help people out with trying to find the right yarn for their pattern.

I am having the same problem. I hate spending a small fortune on yarn plus I live in the boonies. My local WalMart has a really limited supply and one store in town caters to knitters but it is a beautiful shop with Uber lush Uber expensive yarn. Stuff I'd love to have but can't afford to use. I want a good souce of nice wool (not acrylic) or cotton yarn that doesn't cost me mint and that I don't have to travel an hour to get.

i wanted to knit a pattern but it called for 7+ balls of Berroco Suede, witch is like 10-12 bucks a ball....... so for me to knit a small shirt it was going to be like $75..... thats crazy

i'm sick of acrylic yarn but thats bout all i can afford most of the time

I spent $30 on yarn on Monday. It was handspun, handdyed. That's the only reason I'd spend more than 5 bucks on a ball of yarn. This skein was definately worth it (Plus I'll get wristwarmers AND a hat from it).
