ok, so im from the UK and was wondering if there is an alternative to Mod Podge since i've never heard of it before and i want to try out screen printing. is it like PVA glue? also, would normal net material work for the screen? i havent had a chance to look around my local fabric store for the right material but i have loads of netting lying around.

mod podge is a water based, water resistant glue...used a lot for gluing puzzles together.
the first time i made a screen i used old nylon stockings. but i found that sheer curtain material works really well. your netting just needs to be tightly woven...no big holes.
HERE's (http://www.flickr.com/photos/corinneleigh/531901872/) a picture i posted of the curtain material i used.

According to everything I could find on the intarwebs, Mod Podge is just a watered down version of PVA glue. Does the mod podge wear out after a while? It seems like it would eventually flake off.

thanks for the material ideas, i'll have to have a look round my fabric shop :)

and i guess if thats all mod podge is (watered down pva glue) i could just use normal pva glue? i can imagine it peeling off pretty easily though? i guess its worth a try though :) thanks for both of your help :D

I have always had good luck with mod podge. I've never experienced it peeling or flaking.

Simply put...it's a miracle glue. It should be given away as Christmas presents. Personal opinion.
