Yay. Accomplishments. Stuff I made with six needles and other projects.

Vest. Old pillowcase. Buttons in front. Didn't fit right in the back so I tried my first darts. :D

My first try at stenciling... messed up a bit, though. Says "LET'S PlAY A GAME OF LOVE" because of the X's and O's in tic-tac-toe. Says it at the bottom [my]left below the game board.

My gosh I love this skirt. I used denim from old pants as fresh fabric for this skirt. The drawstring(ackk no fun making) and the trim are from the inside of the pant's seams. It has bubble-ness. Yay! I used the reverse side of the denim for a faded vintage wash, like Victoria from Project runway, for the bottom part. The waist band is whatever, I didn't really want to make it but there had to be one. I like how it turned out.

Favorite pair of old jeans that didn't fit. So I grabbed another outgrown pair and tada.

Flipflops I revamped a long while ago.

Prototype scrunchie. I figured out how to make them, so I'm going to make a better one later.

And lastly, a skirt from an old T-shirt and some old fabric I had that reminds me of a table cloth. There was this inscription (maker, probably) in another language and I liked it so I made it an appliqué. The waistband is messed up, They're so mean because they start to curve a bit. So I cheated on it and just slabbed it on there.

Wow! The vest is really unique... I like the way it comes across on your chest. That denim skirt is super cute... I love it! All of these projects are adorable!

Would you say they were worth the 6 needles? XD

Haha, yes, well worth it. Thanks! The vest was too boring and campfiery so I added that little bit.

Oh my gosh, the vest is so great.
And I really like the tic tac toe tank. :)
And I really, really, really like the first skirt for some reason. If my legs weren't so stick-like I'd totally make one for myself, haha.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

It's actually quite simple, but difficult at the same time because I make things unconventionally. So I'll tell you how I made it. ^_^ Pictures would be even more confusing.

-Two pieces of your desired fabric at a good length (remember there's a waistband being added)
-Placing the two sides to be showing against each other, sew it shut to a loop. and turn it inside out.
-Now's where you hem the bottom or add any trims.
-Now put that down and move to the waistband. Make it a bit longer than your hips, or where ever it will sit.
-Find the length you want for the waistband. Double it. Then add 1-2 inches.
-Sew the waist band in one loop, but not folded down or anything.
-Add about two messy pleats or fold overs to each half of the skirt. Hold it up to make sure it fits the waist band and make any adjustments.
-Fold up (say I added 2 inches) 1 inch and start sewing the waistband on, on the inside, making sure the skirt part fits as you go.
-Then fold over on the other side 1 inch and fold down the waist band. Check to see where you want your holes to slide the string through and either cut them or make button holes, depending on how your fabric frays.
-Now after you make your holes, sew down the front part of the waistband
-Try the fit. Then take a safety pin and thread your string through the holes.

Hope that made sense. If anyone wants to clarify, or suggest better ways to do that, by all means, go ahead.
I'll also put up a rough copy of the shape of the vest if you guys want. But it's not too difficult.
:D
