Hey, you asked me for more designs, well heres one we've been working on for a while.. and for the record guys and gals, it is copyrighted ;P
http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/2138/fashionsketchesbyshedoksv9.jpg theres my original sketch, highlights to be pointed out are the sleeves, they only cover half of the upper arm, and can be attached and detatched by a single button, and the straps which are designed to go from 2 into 1..
Here is a very incomplete work in progress shot as modelled by my darling fiancee

I thought you couldn't copyright clothes designs

Not that I plan on stealing your design. (Though it is cool. Kudos to you.) Goofipinay is right, clothing design isn't protected under copyright law. The government doesn't recognize clothing design as an art.

Pictures or anything you create yourself from your own imagination [especially if it's drawn] = copyright.
I want to enter this, but I don't have anything good, and feel a bit uncomfortable about it.

it's only copyrighted if you go through the legal process. if you take an uncopyrighted something and copy it it's plagerisim which is NOT illeagal if the item is not copyrighted
i'm currently in a class on all of this.:D

yeah. but as i learned you can just say it's copyrighted for something as simple as that under those terms. .. but I'll believe you more. Maybe my teacher is a bit too full of herself, but she did copyright some project idea thing... 'cause it was amazing so the group of teachers put a little C with a circle around it, next to the title. In those means, it should, [and is?] legal. But inventions I guess, the smiley face, wide known booming, main stream corporate stuff, legally are copyrighted. Maybe it's under the terms of it's use and environment.
Well I've always sort of doubted those means of just saying it's copyrighted, it made a teensy bit of sense, though. Now I'm sad though, my stuff will never be safe.
and mhhm... not all plagiarism is illegal, but all plagiarism is found upon :D
w/e I think we've hijacked this thread

I'd be happy to give you some pictures of my dresses except I'd prefer to crop them so you can't see my face. I would like to know a bit more detail though before I jump into anything.

We're a MAGAZINE call TEEN VOICES. Teen voices written by teens for teens. And were working on the Arts and Culture section and our topic for this month issue is DIY. So were looking for teen girls designs to put in our magazine. So it would be nice if you send us some of your designs and you croping your face is fine, with some sketches that be good. Also it be nice if you send some biograhphy about yourself how you got involve in doing DIY and what you like about it? And if you have other creative friends who do DIY you should tell them to send in some designs too. Thanks for being intersted in this! Reply soon.

I have a brilliant observation.
If we're on a DIY board, I think we may just sew and be designers!
Sorry my smart ass got the better of me there. ^^

depending on where you are, copyrighting may be as simple as proving you thought of it first. Keep a detailed, dated journal of all your ideas, and when you have something really amazing, talk to a government person or a lawyer about getting it copyrighted. Fun stuff.

I apologise for not replying sooner. Since its easter holiday for me, my parents decided to visit my aunt and uncle. Cut some stuff out if it's way too long. But I guess too much is better than too little. I'm not able to post pictures at the moment because I am on a different computer to normal so I don't have the pictures. They will be up here asap.
My real name is Sacha, (username is either Indigo/Sacha/Sachaxx depending on which forum because sometimes Sacha has already been taken as a username), I'm 15 and I live in England.
I've always been a creative person but it was roughly a year ago when I first discovered DIY clothing on Craftster.org. I've discovered more and more forums like Craftster, and I've built up my knowledge from reading posts and tutorials of others. I also take a years long fashion course at a local college.
Its harder to find fabrics and patterns in the UK compared to the USA, so on my last holiday in America to see my relatives and family friends, I made the most of Joannes and bought numerous fabrics and patterns with my saved up holiday money. Recently, I've used XXXL men's shirts to make clothes because it's easier and cheaper.
Making your own clothing is a great way to set myself aside from others (yet I use magazines to influence what I create), it's fun to see the reaction from my friends once they realize that I've made the clothes that I'm wearing, and my clothes have elements that I've picked out from clothing in forums and shops.
