I finally finished all my work, and I needed to make something because its been awhile (because all of the work). I wanted a new bag to hold a book, zune, keys and the essential gummy worms. I didn't feel like buying one or buying fabric.

So using this old shirt, modeled by my [un]glamorous chair (so it can be stretched):

I made this, again modeled by furniture

I was extremely lazy with it, so I just kinda winged it. No measurements what so ever.

Sometimes winging it is the way to go.
I like the stripes - I wonder if the handle might accidentally stretch out?

That's cute.
Good job too.
Can't tell you winged it.

i actually like it rather much. i have a similar fabric, and therefore a question:

how do you find a stretchy knit holds up as a bag? isn't it too flimsy, even with the lining?

It actually holds up pretty well because the fabric isn't really that stretchy. You can only put a couple of things(like keys, a paperback, mp3 and cash) in it. I've used it a couple of times and you can throw it around like when getting into a car(if anyone has ever had the issue of getting into a car with a bag that falls off your shoulder, so you end up sitting on it..ha must sound like a total loser). Its best to braid that handles really tightly if you use this kind of fabric so it doesn't stretch that much.
