So I've never really sewn in my entire life but my mom used to sew a lot so she has all the equipment. Once I stumbled on the how to make a tote bag episode I was absolutely hooked, I rushed off to thriftko and found this big giant flowery shirt and then I used an old sheet for lining. So here's my tote bag from my first attempt:

(Sorry about the overly exciting pajamas :-P)

And then after that I decided that I wanted to make a something a little more complicated so I thought I'd take a black shirt and a red and black striped shirt and combine them into a halter top, it's not quite done yet but here are the preliminary pics.

Oh yeah, and there are some bumps in the fabric in the pics because I haven't trimmed the inside extra fabric yet, and the collar is crooked because I'm positioned a little weird since I had to hold it up in the picture because I haven't made the tie for the neck yet and I'm using a not quite long enough loose piece of fabric in the pictures.

After buying generation T I'm actually now in the process of making arm warmers that match, and I'm even thinking of turning it to a band T-shirt and stenciling the Radiohead bear on the front.

Look what this site has done to me, I've been a total recluse for the past week! But I love it >.<!!

The top looks fantastic so far! I love the neckline.

And I really love the purse. That's really fantastic for a first attempt. Plus I'm drawn to florals on a black background.

oh how we sacrifice social lives for our DIY. but on teh plus side when all our small little projects are done we'll look awsome when we do emerge back into the real world :P
