Is it me, or is Vivienne Westwood just ripping off the whole Harajuku scene? It doesn't seem that innovative to me:http://lifestyle.msn.com/beautyandfashion/fashionweek/staticslideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=6354053

Well, Vivienne is big in Japan now.
So part of it is that she's feeding off that audience, the other part is that she inspired some of these looks.

I saw some of it influenced by the harajuku.. but not all.
Actually, this (http://lifestyle.msn.com/beautyandfashion/fashionweek/staticslideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=6354053&imageindex=16) dress reminds me more of Harajuku than anything else I've seen on that page. I think it's the weird mix of torn cloth and ruffles, plus the hat.

well, designers get their inspiration from everywhere, but I don't think that a well established designer would rip off a whole scene like that. And harajuku can really look in many different ways.
btw I love the last one by Christian Lacroix!
From what I've seen of Harajuku, it's just a crazy fashion mecca of styles. I don't think it'd be possible to rip off the entire scene.
I'm totally in love with this dress (http://lifestyle.msn.com/beautyandfashion/fashionweek/staticslideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=6354053&imageindex=21) (minus the head... bag? o.O) and this dress (http://lifestyle.msn.com/beautyandfashion/fashionweek/staticslideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=6354053&imageindex=12). I'm in love with the style on the second one.

oh wow, i love that second one too. it's really girly-elegant, all at once, cause of the fabric i think :)

and whats with all the bags & such on the models heads? weird...
Yeah, the Valentino dress really appeals to my super girly/vintage addict side. I couldn't figure out why it was in with the runway oddities. I agree, the fabric really makes it work. I don't understand the "head bags" either. I guess it's some trend that's lost on me (and at least a few other people too).

aw, come on! the head bags are clearly not for wearing! They're just props for the fashion show, taking make-up and hair one step further.
Further proof that, most of the time, high fashion eludes me. But, um, who cares about the hair and makeup if you can't see it through the head bags?

thats the point. the head thing -is- the hair and makeup :P
Okay, then it's the worst hair/makeup job I've ever seen. :3

Well, it's haute couture. It's not really what people wear to pick up the dry cleaning, is it? The Dior dress is great and the Valentino, fantastic but, you can see where the trends will go and it's funny that alot of designers are doing alot a DIY loking pieces. We win, ;) !

OhhHHH, I LOVE these! Even if they do look "strange" I like them better them the normal looks that people have on runways.
