earrings!

i went to a local beading shop yesterday and got all the supplies i need to make earrings (finally). onto the pictures!

my first attempt. simple but i love them anyways.

that's all of them so far. if anyone has any ideas for recycled earrings (besides soda tabs and bottle caps) i would love to hear them!

If you happen to have a broken keyboard (for computer, not piano) you can take you the keys out and make them into earrings. I did that with my moms old laptop computer.

Omg, I love the dice. My dad made my mom a pair of dice earrings a long ass time ago, and now I have them. However, my ears aren't pierced ): Poopy.

More things to make earrings out of? How about... old toys? I've seen legos used before. Lego blocks and people. um... Old action figure heads? (not the valuable action figures, but maybe newer ones that the body is screwed up but the head is still in good condition) Barbie shoes! Pencil top erasers, push pins, makeup tools (like the little brushes that nobody ever uses), screws, nails, washers, bolts, caligraphy pen nibs (I have a whole bunch that I have no idea what to do with o__o), bits of old greeting cards laminated with packing tape, hand-made felt shapes, and more ;D I'm just throwing ideas at you.

If the earrings you make keep breaking, then you probably aren't using the right supplies. There are alot of great resources available on the basics of jewelry making. Here are a few resources to try first:

I LOVE making recycled jewelry. SOme of the fun earring projects with found objects I have come across: guitar picks, barbie shoes, other tiny toy pieces, pieces of computer motherboard, Christmas lights, electrical wire, fabric scraps, wool, tiny crocheted pieces, can be fun too. I have also used washers, screws, safety pins, paper clips, and paper oragami pieces.

Like I said, I really like making jewelry!
