So, alot of people have some interesting avatars!

So why don't you tell us who it is, what it is, where you got it, or something else about it! If there is a story behind it, TELL IT!

I will start!!!

so, i was just goin thru threadbanger, then in the forums; i had no avatar!

So i went to photobucket dot com and looked at the love icons! and i really like that icon! and i wont stop luving it!

My old avatar was an old sticker for the old Sega game Shinobi.
Current is a weird 3 foot doll I found while coming out of the subway. It was missing and arm and had a mullet. I took it home and gussied it up some with black sharpie and white duct tape. It is now hanging on my wall, holding nunchucks on one arm and 2 old soundcards danging from the other. I love it.

Mine is of two tap dancers called The Nicholas Brothers -- Harold and Fayard Nicholas. Harold passed away a few years ago, and Fayard passed away just this year.

They were possibly the best tap dancers of all time ever recorded on film. If they hadn't been African-American during such a time of blatant racial prejudice, they honestly would have been bigger than Fred Astaire. Even Fred Astaire said as much. Gregory Hines refused to be compared to them, b/c he knew there was no way he could do what they did.

The pic is a still image from a dance number called "Jumpin' Jive," from a movie called "Stormy Weather." The clip is a Cab Calloway song, followed by the dance number:

If you look really closely, there's a saxophonist in the corner of the avatar. The Nicholas Brothers are jumping over the band! Crazy, huh?

I've shown this clip to people who HATE tap dancing, and they usually have to pic their jaws up off the floor and say "Wow..."

I'll never be as good as these guys, but I can still be a fan.

I changed my avatar caz I felt like it. It's of me being emo caz of Shikamaru kept on glomping me. Plus I was bored. We were on our way back from a long day of singing. Yeppie home! Any way I didn't have a ride @ 1st when we got bak 2 the skool. So I was waiting w/ Cat., Shikamaru, and Peg Peg and sum other guy. And since Shika kept on taking my stuff I'd chase him w/ high heel boots running, not ez. But besides that my day was ok and Shika is annoying.

My avatar is a detail of my biggest piece of art yet. It's kinda like a tryptichon so 3 Wooden boards that where stained blue and red. On these said boards my art school teacher finally attached the clay pieces of 3 images that I designed. I made most of the parts myself, but had help with some pieces that were attached to the bigger board.

It is a 3D version of a drawing I made with fineliner pens in 1997. I never actually saw it assembled, because I was an Aupair in the States at the time they finally got done with it. But it was a huge project and took forever. Pieces had to be made over and over again, because they sometimes broke in the kiln or didn't fit with the other parts due to the shrinking of the clay.... I think we started in 1999 and didn't get done till early 2002. Now it hangs in some office of the boss of the the local garbage company...how fitting...;) But it wasn''t anything that belonged in the trash. So if I have the money some day I'd try to buy it back from them! Just for the sake of it. :)

If case you guys haven't figured it out yet, I'm a knit-a-holic. I'm working on my sewing skills, but until they are better I'm spending most of my holiday gift crafting time knitting presents for my loved ones. So....one day my boyfriend was sitting on the couch playing Phantom Hourglass on his DS and I was looking at some DIY knitting things, like how to make your own needles and other tools (taking a little break from a big knitting project). He decided to dare me to knit something with a DS Stylus....he doesn't know you should never dare a knitter...haha! Unfortunately I didn't get to complete any project with them, he wanted his DS stylus back so he could continue playing Phantom Hourglass (he's a Zelda freak).

I moved to Austin in 1999, my niece Brooke was 3. She didn't understand why she couldn't spend the night with Aunt Lissa anymore because it was 4 hours away. I begged my sister as my niece got older to let her come stay with me, I finally got my wish 2 years ago. It was heaven, a whole week teaching my niece how to sew and do crafts. One day we went vintage shopping and I bought this really cool green dress with white piping and a white head band to match. After I dropped her back off to my sister, I found this drawing in the car on a paper grocery bag.

I know she's the greatest, I miss her a lot. Hopeful one day I'll have a daughter of my own, I love my son and hope he find a love for mommies crazy crafts.

It's one of my gorgeous rats. (:
His name is Alfred and was found in a cardboard box with 2 others, James and William, outside in the cold. (It was January.)
The person who found them gave them to a vet, who couldn't have them for long, so I talked my mum into letting me have them. ^^
