Well I really didn't like the aesthetics that you attach to yourself at teh Halloween store this year so I decided to make my own with some toilet paper fake blood and liquid latex.

I may make a tutorial how to get different wound effects and such.
Basically if you want to try this you may want to look into getting something called "Bloody Scab" from www.halloweenexpress.com (http://www.halloweenexpress.com) It has direction on how to apply.
also, when you apply the blood, if you get a charcoal pencil and rub it over the area to make it gray or a darker shade the blood looks more realistic.
All in all, it's a cheap alternative to buying the premade ones from the store, and it's completely custom. However if you're allergic to latex, you won't be able to get the severed and torn up look of your skin. Also if you don't have a charcoal pencil you can get a makeup kit of reds and a black or gray and apply it under the blood and then apply bits or red around your eyes if you want more of a freshly dead look.
Going all out? You can get an airbrush and airbrush blue gray and green gray veins onto your skin. I would have done this if I had the money at the time, it's the technique they used in the "Silent Hill" movie on the nurses' skin.
