Hey. I am so excited to find you guys! I live in Vancouver, Washington (across the Columbia River from Portland, OR). There is some craft stuff but not a lot.

I am trying to find my craft niche. I've been collecting rubberstamps and making my own greeting cards since I was 5. Started taking photography classes at 10, ended up as a camera person in the news industry for 5 years. After that I actually had time to learn new crafts and ended picking up polymer clay bead making and stained glass pendant making for Christmas gifts.

Two months ago a couple of things happened. First, my daughter received a drawstring backpack as a gift. I later saw how much people wanted for these simple things and thought....I can do that! Second, my husband reads the Ikea hacker blog and got me started reading it. I read one blog that said their creation could be found on Etsy. Seeing everything on Etsy made me want to learn to sew. I fought my Mom so hard for so many years to NOT learn. So, I went out to iTunes and downloaded all of the Etsy podcasts. It said "you might also enjoy ThreadBanger". I downloaded all of these episodes as well and was instantly HOOKED (sorry for the pun). Over the last couple of days I have finished watching all of the videos and starting reading the members forum. I have NEVER done forums before but people here seem to be very open-minded to everyone else - experienced or just starting. I am excited by all of the creativity.

Thanks for letting me ramble. I can't wait to see what everyone designs next!
