i ended up with this after countless hours of frustration. haha. i tried to make a dress but that wasn't working out for me so i opted for a top. and i think it came out pretty well.
i made this from some cheap soft fabric i bought. measured my bust and sewed it into a tube top. then i scrunched the middle and sewed through that to make it scrunch like that. and i made the straps out of some left over fabric. and tada!!
i like the simple things. the color looks weird because the lighting in my room is very odd.

the last picture is what the color actually looks like.

I made it for Christmas mass because i really couldn't find anything in the store and hardly anything is "church appropriate" these days unless you cover it with a jacket or a shrug or whatever..haha.

so yeah. i love it. what do you think? all comments are appreciated.

happy holidays everyone!!

Whoa, it looks awesome on you! I like how it's so simple looking, too.

And I totally know how it feels to not find anything church appropriate. I just end up wearing a lot of cardigans, usually!! Ha ha..

Adorable! I think I'm seeing how it came together, too.

I think if you'd done a more triangular shape at the bottom, it'd worked out as the dress you'd wanted. Sewing two trapezoids together, instead of a tube.

Thank you for sharing this project, and I definitely wanna try this!

Finding things "Church Appropriate" is quite hard. Nowadays it is supposed to be "come as you are" in most churches.

Nice Save!

That looks so cool! I want to make it! How exactly did you do it, was it only a straight tube before you "scrunched the middle"? Wicked top!

i love this.
creative neckline!

@ KeveyDean & Kittymoon: yeah well it's pretty simple. just a tube top shape and then you kinda scrunch it or like fold it like an accordian and then hand sew through the center of the "srunch/accordian". you have to do it a couple of times or it might fall apart on you.

man i'm all excited my post got resurrected. thanks.

hugs for revivers!!
