I finally got around to buying myself a copy of Stitch'n'Bitch by Debbie Stoller.... oooooh shiny! I'm flying through one of the hats in the book, the Kittyville pattern.

First time using circular needles, and the needle is way too long so I keep having to pull a loop of cable over to the right so I can move the work around. But it's also the first time that something I've knitted has just.... flowed. It's going to be the most amazing hat ever. I'm using a multicoloured yarn so it's all psychedelic jagged half diagonal stripes. Sorry, I'm babbling, but I'm in the middle of one big squee at the moment. Will post photos when done, just to squee some more.

It's ok, I remember I started a laptop bag project, and I 'thought' I was purling right, turns out I was wrong, and I already knitted a LOT of it and cut off excess color change threads.

Remember, stare at the pictures till your eyes pop. Ok, maybe not, but look closely and make sure the look and texture of the picture matches yours.

SnB Knitter's Handbook was my original guide in learning to knit! It's a really useful book to have for reference!

The Sequel books Son Of... and ...Nation are good too. Son Of... has a special place in my heart for Lucha Mask Balaclavas.

I can see that already! Pretty much everything I did in making that hat, from decreasing to picking up stitches (for the ears and earflaps) I learned from the book according as I needed to!

Very excellent. I like the stich n bitch series of books. One thing to note though. Be sure to check out their website. I went on there once to see if they were planning anything and found that in a couple of their books they had misprinted some of the patterns and there were mistakes in them.
So to avoid frustration on another pattern it might be a good idea to check that out and see if they've put up any misprints in the book you've bought.

It happens.

I was stymied a few times on Punk Knits because of a misprint.
