I realized that I forgot to include my most recent sweater-to-cardigan-creation.

Same concept: cut down the middle and play with buttons and trim. Except for this one I didn't use my sewing machine at all. Everything was done by hand.

I can wear it closed or open

Now a close up on the vintage leather buttons, the stretch lace trim, and my hand stitching (I should have used embroidery floss).

I also made the skirt I'm wearing in the first two pics out of and old pair of corderoy pants.

here's a closer look

You really do love cardigans! But you're excellent at refashionning to get them. And you look so 'fifties nice girl' like Olivia Newton-Jones's Sandy in Grease!!! If I had a son, I'd be confident he was with a good girl with you!!! :p

On top of that, you can sew!!!

I apologize ahead of time - I'm on dial-up and the pics are loading so slowly, so I donno if I'm going to get to see the skirt till later.

I really adore the recon of this sweater though, and you did a fantastic job! I love how the buttons start lower on the body of the sweater. And the stretch lace is cute. Welcome to ThreadBanger!

How did you manage to cut it down the middle so cleanly without it unraveling? Is it hemmed?
