heyy :] ive been reading alot of the threadbangers forums lately, and ive been wondering.
doesnt anyone else other than me live in japland?!
all the threads are talking about goodwill and thrift stores i have never heard of. here, 'goodwill' is a place that offers short term work for money.
...anyhow. since i live in osaka, the only place i go to for my craft supplies is esaka, which has a hugge cloth shop and tokyuhands.
anyone live in japland and know any good craft stores?? if you do, please comment x_x

I kinda wish I lived in Japan. But I don't. Sorry I don't know any stores.
But I love anime. Do you? Random yes I know, but I'm half asleep still.

we lived in Okinawa for 3 years till this Jan *sniff* I miss it...all the good food...the nice people...the warm moist air
I dont' know how it is where you are but there were TONS of "second hand shops" on Okinawa. not by the bases or in the "city" parts of town but just randomly in neighborhoods....maybe drive around a look?
also are you Japanese? if not get a local friend and hit them up for tips...
also check craig's list? or ebay for second hand stuff...

Nope. I used to wanna go there with my boyfriend
but...he has a thing for japanese people (which I am not.)
*I'm a very jealous kinda person.
I usually try searching online and going around the city to look for little-known thrift stores...

I never lived there but I've visited twice. I love it. My brother lives in a town outside of Tokyo. I can't spell the name of the town. Both times I visited I never ate so much or drank so much in my life. I can't wait to go back.
Definition of "goodwill" stores....clothes and household goods are donated to a charity that in turns sells them to raise money for the charity. They are sometimes called thrift stores or re-sale shops. I don't know if anything like that exists in Japan. Here in the US most of these stores are run through churches or community programs.

will be searching, but still waiting for comments <3 thank you!

I bet I know who would know!!
now I feel dumb I didn't think of this before!!
I bet if you could find a "Church of Jesus Chrit of Latter Day Saints" (an american branch maybe close to a millitary base?) they would know!!
LOL ok so I just google mapped Osaka, Japan to see where the nearest millitary bas is and the map is in Kangi!! LOL I dont' know enough to be helpful....let me try somthing else
ok no luck can't find a map in English!!
anyhoo...I know there are American bases there and I know they would have one of my churches there!! and I KNOW they would know where to find a thrift/second hand shop. so you can google "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" and it would have a # you could call....you could tell them that a mormon (slang for member of LDS Church) sent you on a hunt..but that you're not interested in any "lessons" unless of course you are!! oh the people you'd be calling are missionaries and they help tell people about our religion and they are supposed to be helpful!!
ok so this kind of sounds odd...sorry
I hope I helped *saking head in doubt*
we miss Japan :(
mmm.... japanese food...mmmm what I would do for some Katsudon...mmmm

I forget but when I was in Japan (I just got back but I'm going to go back soon!), the used clothing store Kinji has a good selection. Though I'm unsure if they have an Osaka store.
Here's the site:
www.kinji.jp (http://www.kinji.jp)
Also I heard Hanjiro is a good one. I think they have a store in Osaka.
Here's the link:

Hope this helps!

Ah, I miss Japan ;-;
We lived in Yokohama and got our material at a little store across from Motomachi. Not helpful at all.
I live in Japan for over 4 years and when I moved away (almost 2 years ago), I suffered from sever culture shock because people (my classmates) in Europe seemed so disrespectful. I made friends with the only Asian in my class and she often commented that I was the most Asia-non-asia she knew xD
Good luck in your search! C:
