I finally did it...stopped looking at my sewing machine...and actually had my fiance thread it and get it ready for me...lol!! I am spoiled but I am no longer a slave to the mall!! I made my 1st blouse and I am wowed!! It took me about 6hrs spread over a 24hr period...but I like the results!! Simple but I tried!!
Tell me what do you think?

Looks really good
I used to have a personal threader
but then they had to teach me how to do it
anyway
I love how it looks like it can pass as a really cute dress as well as a blouse
good job

That's FANTASTIC for a first attempt! I also really love the length, and how you can just wear it as a dress with a cami underneath for, er, modesty reasons. Hee. Awesome!
That was sweet of your sweetie to thread the machine for you, and to teach you. Awww.

I am not really sure what material i used! i bought the material in the clearance bin at wal-mart! I spent a $1 per yard...it was black stretchy like material...slightly see through when stretched. I will have to start making a note of the material I buy!! I really do not know where to get it...I just go feel the fabric and then look at the price and then BUY!!

I made some cool ninja mits out of an unused sweater vest. I know they aren't the best but it's only my first project.....I still have time to improve.

Super impressive for a first project.
Does your beau sew?
You say it gets a bit see through when stretched? How much does this come into play when you put it on? Do you absolutely have to be wearing something underneath lest you have conservative people tsk tsk-ing you around town?
Also, I am now on a mission to make a stretch sweater vest/dress shirt sleeves and collar.

well it is not that sheer...but I know that it is not exactly opaque either! i found out that it is a poly spandex blend. like 60 - 40% ratio. what most of the wrinkle free skirts are made of.
My mission @ this time...
i have 2 son's with skin disorders...so they are very very sensitive to fabrics other than cotton. I am trying to find a jersey knit material that will not enflame the skin and I can make "stylish" ninja mitts!! Any suggestions on where to find such fabric? or how to read what kinda fabric i am getting when i am in the store?
