I made this purse awhile ago. Just standard black ribbon, gromets, fake suede and handcuffs to make it. I was in a hurry to get it finished so theres no inner pockets or anything fun like that lol. Hope you enjoy!

That said, it would probably look better with just a little more work. The exposed zig-zag stitching is a real giveaway.

yea, I was trying to cover up the seams some how by having them faceing inward but the material is thick so it doesn't fold too well.

I wouldn't say that's so important, but if you used a straight stitch in a closer colour, it wouldn't be so obvious.
If your machine lets you do lockstitches, that'd be gret.

creative. Love the use of the handcuffs as a part of the strap :P

It's wonderful, though I agree with that the stitching should have been hidden. Best way to do that is sew inside out. The handcuffs are downright quirky :)

oooh. Hm, maybe if you got some black bias tape, you could cover the zig-zag seaming? Then it would look more finished, with very little effort.

Maybe if they'd been black stitches? I do like the stitches, too, but not with the black ribbon somehow...
Or, black beaded trim? so they looked like kinky lingerie?
Why do I use the word "kinky" so much?? gawd. Sorry!

Yeah, I like the stitching. I was thinking what LadyJane was. Maybe black would be cool. Personally, I think that having a contrasting thread for visible stitching can really be a cool touch- as long as you do it on purpose and choose the right color.

how do you put those metal parts on the zig zag?? the ones that are around the holes looks pretty sick!!

That is adorable. If you want to cover the stitches without ripping it out and starting over you have a couple options. You can use either Bias Tape or Quilt Binding and top stitch it over the seems (you could use wide ribbon too but the tape and binding are already ironed in half). You might do the same with some funky black lace tape or something. Another option is to do some decorative painting right over the stitches.
I personally don't mind the zig zag but if you're looking to cover it - good luck.

wow, that's a lot of options to consider... me, personally, i would keep the bag as is, if that's what you were going for. if not, still keep it, and then make more bags like it using different colors and trying out the options for the zigzag
