Why not do both?

Sorry I don't have any production photos, but this was just a quick repair job on some jeans that were a bit too open in the knee, using the cut offs from turning a pair of camo pants into shorts.

like the holes above the camo make it better...

i suggest u hand sew some zig zag pattern around the holes

I'd rather not show stitching. I personally abhor the current trend towards visible superfluos crazy stitches.

Thumbs up on the camo wrap-around, though I would have made them a bit more asymmetric between the pant-legs.

Actually, I just had a pair of legs left over from converting a pair of pants into shorts.

The other thing about the jeans was that they were slightly too short. I actually cut out the sections that were too torn to repair, and replaced them with slightly longer sections of camo.

I might still add another panel around where the current rips are, as well.
