Hey everybody,

here's something "new" from me.
For this year's Halloween costume i hit the thriftstores. I bought a black dress (5€), a black shirt (1€) and the boots (3€). The hat and wig I borrowed from a friend. But (!) the broom is 100% DIY! And I love love love it! <3 I also put the collar and little sleeves on the dress (they are very small, but I think ou can kind on see them on the last picture), and altered it a little to fit me better.

Oh and the green skin...yeah, green make up was kind of expensive, i used watercolors...

I love Wicked, but nobody recognized me, because here in Germany it just came out last week. And I don't like the German Lyrics at all (!), but that's another story.

Here are some pictures:

Hope you like it, although it's not so much DIY...

so long,

Mary <3

Oh, wow! I'm not a fan of the show, but you definitely look like the show poster in the middle pic.

I never would have thought of watercolors. Did it come out OK? Or did you wind up walking around with green skin the next day?

Wow.... great job! I jsut read the book and it's very close to the original cover... although I have a different version.

And... I am from Germany... I would totally have recognized it! :D But not because of the show. More because of the middle picture and yeah... the book is very descriptive when it comes to Elphaba and her clothes. :)

Hi everyone,

thanks so much for your comments! <3 I'm glad you like the costume and the pictures! <3 I like the pictures too...

@ ladyjanewriter: With a little lotion the watercolors came off just fine, only the skin around my nails looked a little unhealthy for a couple of days and it took quite a while to get all the color out of my ears. And another thing: The watercolor makes the skin really dry...

@ Candiese: Thank you! I love my broom, although it already lost some of its branches. =(

@ delight: Yeah! Green is the best (!) color! <3

@ beam_on: Yay! A fellow German! <3 All of a sudden the world feels so small! =)

Thanks again everybody! You've made my day!

Rock on,
Mary

beautiful costume, very alike!

When I was a kid, we were using aquarelle pencils to do our halloween make-up. You brought me back in my childhood for a moment! :D
