Here's where I started. It's an old chenille sweater with elbow and other holes, but just so comfy and wonderful that I had to reclaim it. The requisite leg warmers were not an option because of the elbow holes--chenille being next to impossible to darn--so I had to get really creative. I decided to "pay" myself a between $1 and $5 for each item I come up with until I use up every possible piece of the sweater, the proceedings going to my church's Beneficent Fund to help needy folks in our area. Maybe other Threadbangers can vote on how much each item is "worth", so I can have an idea of how much to add to the fund. I'm posting this to keep myself accountable to use up every scrap I can. I'd love to have nothing left over when I'm done, so watch my progress.
I'm also hoping other people will take up the Slice 'n' Dice challenge, also, and raise much-needed cash for your favorite charity while DIYing and helping the environment! Take a sweater/shirt/hoodie/whatever and see how much you can get out of it!
First project posted later tonight.
