I got the idea from iamaquamannn's bottle cap stud earrings. I had the idea reading it that it could work with pins too, stuffing them with clay to insert a post that is. So I made a pair using some favored (mostly~matching) pins.

First I clipped off the needle on the back of the pin with wire cutters. Then I slid some chain through the metal hoop the pin normally sits under. Then I stuffed it with sculpy and added posts. I didn't have any posts per say but I had some beading eyepins and I stuck one in my ear and it fit fine like a post should, so I am using that.

Oh and I used a little epoxy at the end to stabilize the posts, they were wobbily after baking because of what they were.

that is so cool! i'm envious.

speaking of buttons... does anyone know where i can find a button maker for less than 100 bucks. i've looked on ebay and whatnot and they seem to run for a fortune.

Just gotta know where to look I guess, I like to look for small companies instead of anything that looks like bulk/outlet for my crafty supplies.

Badges are what the Brits call pins.

Brits = badges

Americans = pins

I bought a little kit from the dollar store that had all kinds of little findings, and there was a length of chain in there. Check places like Micheal's, craft stores, dollar stores (if anything, get a necklace at the dollar store and use the chain from that.) It doesn't have to be expensive.
