insomnia projects

due to my lack of sleep, i've been on a huge diy binge. lately it's mostly been reconstructing, stenciling and making shirts.

*note* all the stencils were done with regular legal printer paper and acrylic paint. i've far too broke to afford the proper paper and screen printing paint. and this way.. if i mess up or don't like the stencil i can just wash it off (for the most part).

this one was made to show my obsession with mix tapes (don't mind the embarrassing stains, it's an old tee):

haha i just realized how christmas-y the mewithout you shirt turned out. i think it's the colors mixed with the style of the beard.. oh well.

the background is pretty self-explanatory. but just in case i just cut out a second stencil about the same shape as the mixtape stencil... some variety makes it look pretty cool.

mewithoutyou is a band. the reason for the beard is that the lead singer of the band as the most amazing beard that there ever is/were/will be and many of the other band members also have beards.

I was thinking about putting someting on the back.. like "beards win" or "beards rule"
but i think it might confuse people even more.

I loved it. Did you spray paint all that? I've really got to catch up on some techniques of how to make prints. I know how to knit but I've never really sewn alot and I've never done prints but I really really REALLY want to learn.
