Hey Guys. Just as one of those random, curious questions, how did you all find out about Thread Banger?

KrystalKairi

I was searching for something on Youtube for something totally unrelated when one of the quick videos popped up. So then I watched that and found out about the site I suppose. How about you?

I was dearching youtube too :D I was looking for videos on stenciling and the one with the guy making the batboy shirt popped up. Looked interesting, so I watched it, then proceeded to watch every single one in the archives on the main site until I'd seen them all. It was a very pleasent surprise to see others taking DIY seriously like this. I knew about Etsy before from the BPAL.org forums and had my own etsy account, but was really pleased to see TB do a show on them.

I found them on Curbly.com. It's a DIY home decor blog website that I love, but people post other things of interest too... threadbanger has their own blog on there, and they post the how-to parts of the show on curbly, so that's how I stumbled across them to begin with, and now I watch the whole show every week!

Indy Mogul and Thread Banger are now just advertising each other now, aren't they? Last few epipsodes I've seen, Indy has just show thread banger stuff. And now Thread Banger is returing the favor I'm guessing.

Hey Guys. Just as one of those random, curious questions, how did you all find out about Thread Banger?

I was doing one of my usual searches for some other knitting sites so I could try and find something a little different. That search brought me to the knitting episode that Rob & Corinne. After seeing what all they had to say, I started looking at some of the other episodes because I was starting to get interested in brushing up my sewing skills. I watched all the episodes in 1 day. The same way I discover most of my podcasts. I go through itunes and do a search based on genre or title or something for whatever I'm curious about looking for at the time.
I download a whole bunch of different shows and then check out a couple of episodes to decide if I like them or not.
More often than not I tend to delete the majoritiy of the shows I download not finding much interest in them. I hesitated on threadbanger because it was a video podcast and I didn't have much time to watch them.
A little board and needing to find things to delete on my computer for space I started going through every single podcast I had downloaded to see what I might want to get rid of.
Finally watching threadbanger and I had to watch each and every episode. It took a couple of hours. I was hooked and wished I had started watching it way sooner than I did.

so I bought a magazine...a spin off of threads can't remember the name.... anyway thought it was SOOO COOOLLLL!!!! and decided to do a search for it...found the threads website...there were some tuts there with videos...and one led to another lead to another...until I watched someone iron plastic bags together to make a messenger bag...that led me to TB (but only on youtube for some reason) where I spent all night searching EVERY episode out..and watched them in order (cause I have OCD) and after like a week of rechecking youtube for new episodes my brain kicked in and was like ..umm..wait ...did they say they had a website all of their very own???!!!
and now I'm here..and I don't feel like such a weirdo anymore (I know lots of people who "sew" but only "this" or "that" and altering or making my own clothes has always made me stand out...) I feel home here...
ok that sounded corny...but ole well

I was reading about zombies on some website... Something I just do in my spare time, heh... And there was a video on how to make zombie makeup from IndyMogul. So I went to watch the full video and a few others. Lo and Behold! Threadbanger commercial. Went directly to the site, and pretty much been addicted ever since. I've only started posting in the forums recently, mainly because I got a digital camera for Christmas and I'll be able to post pictures of projects. Well, when I get new batteries. I discovered threadbangers while I was home recovering from an injury, just a couple of weeks ago. I was just surfing around, found myself at youtube and was perusing videos about knitting and such and lo, there was threadbangers. I was completely charmed by the two hosts, what sweethearts they are and the amazing amount of information, once I arrived at their site.
Now that my injury is mostly healed and I have slowly begun to re-learn how to use my hand, I am eager to begin sewing again. The feeling hasn't totally returned to my middle finger of my left hand. The stretching exercises and PT have given me a goodly measure of my hand back to almost normal. I can now crochet, slowly, and hold smaller objects so soon, I can begin creating again.
Inspired by all you lovely folk, your energy, and your ideas.

Myspace Video.
Which is really strange because I never go on myspace, and I was gonna click away, but something made me continue watching and then I got really inspired to sign up and download all the podcasts.

I wanted to click away because I thought it was some stupid fashion show about superficial barbie dolls who are looking for the best prada bag. (I saw the first few seconds of a fashion show that seemed to corperate.) Then I caught sight of all this punk clothing and I was wowed.
