Cheap simple wallet

I did this wallet out of 6 poker cards and tape :)
is very cheap and easy to do and is easy to carry too

just tape 3 cards in a row and make 2 rows. Tape those 2 rows as shown and tape the ends :)

i made one of these
but put an extra card for my other cards

and cut out the center of a card and put clear tape over both sides to make a see through id holder

i would use a very thin "lining" fabric and stitch the cards onto it.

I made one of these for my friend out of hot pink bicycle cards. It's came out really great. And you can make a keyring by folding a piece of tape to about 3mm and then anchoring it to the wallet on the side.

as for making a bag out of cards, if you didn't want to sew the cards onto a lining fabric, you could also try just laying out the cards, laminating them (or, if possible, laminate them twice?) and then glue/tape/stitch/bond/staple/bind/coil/roll/whatever the pieces together... you know, reminds me of how it might be to make a bag out of used Capri Sun drink pouches.

I wonder if I could make my own wallet? I'm trying to get a new one, but i'm getting SO frustrated. Even if I go to a place like TJ Maxx, I pick up one that has exactly what I want -- change purse, plenty of room for credit cards -- and the stupid thing will cost $60.00! There's not $60.00 worth of material? And I know someone made it, but still.

Ooh. i bet plastic shower curtain would work really well as a credit card/ID divider thingy. Or, one of those cheap plastic placemats from the dollar store.

Yes they are! My personal favorite is the four of clubs. I based a dress design off of it. ^^ Hopefully, once I convince my brother to help me buy a sewing machine, I'll make it.

oh god i made one of those wallets... it lasted pretty good. well better than i thought it would! like 3-4 months. but to make mine like really personal i used my DOB..... 10-10-88 with aces in between!

well... at first i had the problem so i just put a BIG and HEAVY book on top of it (when is closed... of course) for a while and then is a lot easier. I really don't have a big problem with that cuz i always have it in my pocket :)

but maybe you could get some of those... i don't know how are they called... :

when you have them you can paste them in between the cards... were they fold so when you close your wallet the cards WILL stick together because of the.. metal things

You wouldn't need two pairs, per say. I made a wallet just the other day, and I folded it by instinct so they both fold into the same direction, one overlapping the other. Hard to explain, but..it works. And just sitting on it with your butt for awhile will do the trick :cool:
