Steampunk Character

OK me and my mates are doing a steampunk group. You got a flag for our fake ship and everything.
anyway.

It time to start building my character.
But coming up with design is hard for my, they not been a costume I cant make before but I always worked from someone else design and this time it my own soo I am having some problems..

I want to see what ideas people come up with,
it can be anything from colours
to main parts of the costume.

so any help would be great.

HERE the run down of the character.

Circult
that his name, it unknown if it his real name or a allis. Not that he would tell you
He a really laid back guy, if abit of a drunk. drinks way too much for his own good. He the pilot, one of the best out there when he not had a drink, which dosen't happened often.
Also has afew werid habbits
the captain he dosent call him captain, it capy. and often he version of shouting at him to get him to turn around to ask something. is throwning something at his head

sorry not much to go on.. so go mad. any ideas would be great.
I know I want him to look like a pro. like he is the best, which he is when the time rigth.

you could do like a punk rock victorian version of pilot. google for pilot pictures during the victoriana or edwardian era and splash some punk on it. Rips, copper chains, weird items... I think he should have an utility vest of some sort, where he'd keep all kinds of beverages in each pocket. Just brainstorming.. perhaps you can use something..

sounds cool to me. great idea with the vest. I can see him having way too much pockets for good use... :p

I dont have a problem with the character models. I quite like them actually.

Some of the animations could be better, and there could be a lot more of them too, but thats a different topic it seems.
