Hey all, this has been my project the last week or so. I bought it at good will and it was this really blue, dark denim. Here's a picture

I took off the sleeves at the shoulders (obviously before I took that photo) and then mixed up a bleach bath in a mop bucket and soaked it in it, which got me to this point

( thats me on Retro Day at school, what I originally made the excuse to get it for.) The bleach did a number on my hands, but they eventually did go back to feeling normal.(YAY!) As soon as that happened, I got around to sewing a heart patch on with some crazy stitching. And then distressed it with more bleach to make it look less... girly?

In the last couple days, a lot of my spare time has been spent Skyping with my friend from MN and showing her all the lovely things I've been doing to the jacket.I've added some buttons, and two days ago, I was chatting with her whilst sewing this patch on...

The intention with this patch was to get an element that was accurate to the jacket that David Hostetter ( the guitarist/singer for the band) wears on stage. I am kind of thinking now that his vest actually has a patch of duct tape sewed on, not fabric like mine. But you didn't need to know that.
Last but not least, I imitated the writing on David's jacket, but used different lyrics ( he used the line "Last Chance Marie"). To make the stencils, I cut each word out of freezer paper and sponge painted them on.

Alright, thats all of them. Forgive me for killing your internet connections, its just very hard to show the parts in one photo XD
