My parents want me to get the flu shot.

I refuse.

I'm absolutely terrified of needles.

Not like, tattoo or knitting or sewing, those don't bother me, but like, the syringes scare the sh*t outta me.

there was lots of fire during the chemistry magic show tonight. i had an unintentional extended appearance when one of the bottles for the trick i set up went missing...but i found it and the trick went well. bright hot magnesium and molten iron. gorgeous. it was so much fun. at some point the table caught on fire, and out of the dark theater we hear, "um, tim--right side of the table. fire." tim--"so?" *pat*pat*pat*. changing colors, big noises, exploding balloons, jet engine in a giant glass carboy...sigh. i should've started this gig earlier.

Was in college yesterday getting my stuff out for pattern drafting class and this girl in the same course as me but I don't see much cause she's in the other half is there working on her Halloween costume.
So I'm looking at it and its so cool! We start talking and I find out she watches threadbanger and threadbanger is what got her into sewing! I don't think she belongs to the forums sadly.

This is the first time I've run into someone who knew what the hell I was talking about when I brought up threadbanger.
I mean I look at the forums and see a few people on here from Canada... then I think I've seen about two others who are from the same province on here. And since I'm going to school in a small farm town I didn't expect to meet a threadbanger here.

Though I've already hooked a couple of my peers attention with this site. I think by the end of the year I can get at the very least all the costume construction students here.

I mean in our second year we're suppose to make spats. And I love thinking I've already seen a threadbanger episode on that and I wonder how they'll teach it versus the video.

Just caught a set of 5 early trick-or-treatiers haveing their way with my halloween decorations....

I rapped on the window and politly asked them "Could you put those back please. Halloween isn't for another week! I don't mind you running a muck but wait one more week ok??"

i get a "Sorry! I'll put them back!"

"Thank you!"

And when i go out 5min later, all of it is back!

But I"ve already called the RCMP, and they are on their way for a little visit.

Its not the halloween decorations I mind its the bran new(less then 4 months old) silverado truck sitting in the driveway not 5 feet from the 'decorations' they were after.

The weirdest thing just happened...
Miley, my kitty that has been missing for nearly 3 months, just mysteriously appeared in my kitchen.
There were no open doors in the house, no kitty door, or anything like that. She just appeared out of no where.
Before she went missing my mom says she was looking pretty bad, super skinny. But now she looks fine.
The only problem is, she wont let anyone within a few feet of her...
She's hissing and growling and walking around the house with her tail down.

I'm happy that she's home, but this is really upsetting. I don't know what to do.

3 months is a long time, she's probably half feral right now. don't try and pick her up you'll likely get your eyes removed. Was she fixed before she went missing?

How old is she?

The tail down could be a sign of not trusting or not feeling safe enough to relax. My suggestion is when around her to be calm and let her come to you. Treats will help, and just take it slow. Grabbing her suddenly isn't a good idea at this point.

When she's good enough to handle safely bring her to the vet for a check up. There are alot of nasty things around this time of year and she most likely has worms.

Also if she wants to go outside let her. If she's been living off the land she will feel the need to hunt. I suggest leaving some food on the back step to give her a reason to come back after a few hours if she hasn't caught anything.

Cats are crafty creatures. Don't worry much, just take it easy. Slowly take your time reacquainting yourself with her and getting her used to you. One above poster may be right, she may have turned partially feral. Which is reversible in that time period, but trying. Don't force anything.

She could also be a rover/wanderer/noman/vagabond...an alleycat. They come and go as they please, and there's no stopping them when they have their mind set. She may have become acquainted to another household. Just treat her right and she'll be fine.

I prefer rum... on some tropical beach....
but that beer looks so good!


I prefer a good pour of bourbon after a hard day's work. Neat, two to three fingers, most likely from a flask hidden in a pocket somewhere.

Where i work is a stressful and relaxed place... well thats the best way i can describe it. My job is the gofor. I go for this, i go get that. i do the little running around things that need to get done..

I also enter bills into the system and pay them. This task is flawed with problems for me. I have yet to go one week without entering something wrong, or printing the wrong item.

I have taken notes on a verity of occasions, but they don't seem to help much when 2 days later I am informed by the same person who gave me the information in the first place that my directions are incorrect and all the paperwork needs to be redone.

I have also looked up past paperwork to make sure i have entered the information correctly and again have been wrong...

I also have to do the dishes... I hate dishes... but I do them when there is a number of them to do.

I was informed by one of my bosses i was being lazy for not doing dishes over the weekend.(2 bowles, 4 mugs and a selection of utencles) My reply was that the lions share had been squirled away on his desk and i didn't descover them till it was almost time to leave.

joking is something done alot in the office. banter back and forth with a arsenal of verbal insults at the ready. Mostly my boss insults my mother which results in me being the middle man in the battle.

he said her face scared his pet pig!
she replied that hunting seasons starts soon and that pork makes a nice xmas dinner.

its really funny!

however...

When I left work today, my two bosses were in the office talking....

I have worked at this place going on 3 years and I have never seen that happen...

Anyways, I started moving stuff around and all my sewing stuff and hours later....
I'm done! yes!

But now, my back hurts and my foot aches.....(i need a saw for it btw):)

ok nuff.....blabbering....I found my FIDM college panthlet!!!!!! wow, Its likes new!

Where i am, i can't pay with credit card, only cash or check. I pay the bills for actually a bunch of people at work then i have to run to town and they can't get out to do it. they just give me the bill and the means to pay it. Whats on my mind right now is, this. Alot of cats on this end of town have been killed by Coyotes, and stories about them taking some dogs and the cattle around here is scary.

I"ve seen 2 this year at work and i hear them every night howling outside my house, and I know if i had a good spot light and a shot gun i could have taken out at least 5 of them. There is a fairly good sized pack round here.

I know coyotes just need to be Coyotes and they have to eat to live, i do understand that, i don't blame them. BUT they are not native to my end of the province. they were brought in a few years ago to this area and they have done a number on the deer, pets and other local wildlife. I personally would like to see them removed in a human way.

out of the 4 houses around me 3 of them have kids under the age of 10. one of them is only 2 years old. Thats like bite sized to a coyote, and i do understand that these attacks are rare. But they are here IN town. A coworker of mine on an early morning say one WALKING UP THE SIDEWALK on his street! Thats TO close for me!

I know that they have actually gone up to MY house on at least one ocation. When we first moved to this house there was a Pheasant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pheasant) that would come up to within arms reach of us and take bird food, (we called her maria gold) one morning i go out and all there is left is feathers about 20" from my back step. The cats around here are to small to drag something that size off to eat, and all the dogs are tied up.

I mean i swam with sharks and i didn't feel this scared! :(

Pretty much finished my Halloween costume? I don't know what to wear tomorrow though, because I'm only dressing up Saturday (my costume is...small. I don't want to wear it to work).

I've been rethinking my tattoos. open all the windows and doors you can and close the curtains on the windows you can't open. turn off all the lights and close off the doors to rooms he's not in or corner him on one small room with an open window.

Just chill. The only people who REALLY need the vaccine are the people with weak immune systems who spend most of their day in a virus breeding ground (filthy schools), IE children. [And that's if parents want their children too, with all the questions surrounding the vaccine b/c it's so new.]
And adding to that, the vaccine is limited. So if you don't REALLY need it, you can hold out.
The exception is if you have some chronic disease that impairs your immune systems, then you should get it.

While i'd love to fall into the h1n1 hype about it being so much more dangerous i don't believe it is, and i'm sick of hearing about it.

ah well, I kinda trust the 'collège des médecins' (Quebec's physicians association) when they say that the vaccine is nothing new in the process of manufacturing it, no ingredient is experimental. Well, the one manufactured in Canada.

Right before you go to bed, rub Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of both feet. Then put on a pair of cotton socks and go to bed. Supposedly makes you feel 100% better in the morning... I have yet to be sick to try this out.

I always rub it on my chest (like you're spose to =P) and then put a hot washcloth on my face.

If you're inclined to baths, run one, and add some tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus is good for breaking up congestion and helps with your immune system. Tea tree oil also helps with the immune system.

Echinacea tea also does wonnnders for the sick body.

strange as it sounds, i vacuum, dust, and wash all the laundry, curtains, open windows and doors if i can, move the furniture around. Srub the bathroom and kitchen down. Clean the fridge and freezer. do a little organizing of the craft rooms.

then have a hot shower, clean pj's and crawl into a clean bed.

AHHHHH!

Nothing is better when sick then a hard days work to keep your mind off the sick, then going to bed all clean and fresh and waking up and everything is all clean and fresh!

the last time i had it i ended up at outpatients to see the doc because my inhaler had runout and my normal doc had went on vacation. i was just gonna get a refill(i thought that was why it was so hard to breath) but after he listened to my lungs and sent me for x-rays:confused: , turns out it wasn't the inhaler after all!!

clothing is easier to clean and disinfect then toys are, especially stuffed toys.

any time you wash a stuffed animal it takes alot of water and the drying time is crazy. So in the end it's cheaper to refuse them.
weight:water ratio wise you can wash more clothes in one load then you can of the same weight in stuffies.

Today I saw a cop car that was the same as the car from transformers...this lead me to believe that this car is an evil transformer (decepticon) that has been arrested and part of his parol is to be a cop car so when the cop is in traffic chasing a bad guy he makes the car transform and boom bad guy caught!

I just dropped the puppy. she just got out of my arms and hit the ground and halled her leg up and started crying and didn't get up and wasn't moveing and i started crying and calleing for my neighbor because i just saw him outside, and i didn't dare move her becasue she was crying and i thought i broke her leg, and i started crying, and i'm still crying, i'm so scared that i hurt her, and them mom came out and took her inside and put her on the sofa and then she got up and started walking again, so nothing is broken, but i'm still upset and i'm still crying. i thought i killed her. and i can't calm down.

They jump off...just next time be on the floor just incase they jump off it won't be a long distance. You'll be fine. :)


On another note, we have a roomate who is Sevens bestfriend, but lately he's been in his own world. I love him to death but he doesn't do anything to help out in the up keep of our home. I cook and he eats... a lot!
He doesn't buy groceries anymore and never cleans or help.
We're thinking of just moving out on our own. :(

My dad's friend makes summer sausage with deer. He always gives some to dad every year. Dad had a few strokes and is unable to hunt deer. Best type of summer sausage ever.

He also ran an erran for Seven AND he took all the recyclebles and cleaned the yard! I know, freaky!;)
So today I made him some chicken taquitos with lettuce tomato and salsa with cheese. Spoiled brat!:)

We usually keep it as stake and roast and stew meat. But the neck and small bits gets turned into hamburger.

We split it with whoever is hunting with us. Mom is still hunting. she has a doe license this year but isn't gonna shot one unless its the last choice. she's waiting for a buck.

This is where we got the lions share of our organic meat for the year. Dad is on a special diet do to his leukemia, so organic and natural is the bigest part of our food. We had a good garden this year too! Carrots, turnip, potatoes, beans, beats, peas, squash, pumpkin, yellow beans, green beans, tomatoes, and a few other things. We eat good here! well mom and dad do... i seem to live of KD..:p

I have so many projects to make, but I just can't find the right time to start :( I don't really have a work place anymore, I think that's what makes me procrastinate. I'm used to having my own little space where I can sew, draw, paint, & mold in one spot. But since we moved to a smaller room I don't have that space anymore.

over the summer, I had a "space" in the kitchen, where i could just move it back and forth easily,... then I moved to a more "permanent" spot in the dining room (we barely use) to sew everyday
now, I can't! because my mom hates that I turned my dining room into a sewing corner, and it takes longer to clean up for dinner and family get togethers

Maybe trying to put up a nice floor to ceiling curtain to block out the view of your sewing area?

That's really annoying, I don't like my things being moved, because I'll put it away when I'm done with it. Not just sewing stuff, everything else! My mom does that sort of thing, like, I'll leave a can of soda on the table, & go to the bathroom, when come back, It's missing, & when I ask about it, she said she threw it out because it was a mess >.> Then she leaves a glass of juice there for two days.

Glad you have your own space now, that's what I'm hoping for!

I can't sew outside of my room at all! Every time I hold something sewing related my mom starts talking to me like I'm a mindless child who will swallow a needle/button/bobbin thread >.>
