Oh, and I really wanna finish my skirt today. I really hope I don't have to help my bf make spaghetti sauce.

Maybe I can work on the skirt sporadically while he's doing that. Er...shoot. That won't work too well. Maybe I can do that on Thursday or Friday. I am thisclose to getting it to be way better than I'd expected!

I need suggestions on how to get rid of some excess energy in the quietest manner possible [energy spurred from anger XD]. I can't go running outside like I usually would because it's past 10PM here and I'm pretty sure the treadmill is going to eat me.

I'm the same way. I can follow a recipe, but can't possibly figure out a good meal to make out what we have on hand. My husband is brilliant at throwing a great meal together from stuff out of the cupboard. But yeah, if something needs a little "something else" I have no idea what that should be... Unless it has to do with baking. I am excellent at baking bread from scratch and from my homemade sourdough starter.

i have two girls on my history project with me and geesh.. i don't have anything agaisnt girls at all, but its just people like them that annoy me so much. One is on and off depressed all of the time, and tries to bring everyone else down with her. The other keeps talking in this really distant tone about how her parents are really verbally mean to her.

I'm kind of torn, i know i should feel pity for them, but it just makes everyday so gloomy. I try to be positive and try to get them to be somewhat active in this big project, but they wont do anything. Arghh, i want to go to a different group, but it would be really mean to just leave them, and they both consider me as a friend.

Chances are the water you're using is too hot. It the water has to be lukewarm to your wrist. If it's hot-hot, you are accidentally killing the yeast.

Think of the water as being a really cozy bath for the yeast starter. :) They just want to get comfy and chill and eat some sugar, not get scalded.

And I'm VERY good at being the taster who figures out what should go into food if it "needs something."

OK, MoonBeamers, print this out! Put it on your fridge!!!

Here's some ideas:

Not sour/tart enough = lemon juice, lime juice, vinegar, balsamic vinegar, orange juice, maybe a tablespoon of mustard (or one packet).

Not "rounded out" enough = garlic, onion (fresh, dried, or powdered - don't go bonkers with the garlic). Also chopped celery can do wonders in soups/stews. Or celery seed. Mrs. Dash no salt spice mixes are really great, too.

Not spicy enough = dash of hot sauce, black pepper. Depending on the cuisine: Cilantro, powdered cloves or nutmeg. Chinese 5 spice powder, curry, tumeric. Basil, Oregano. You get the idea.

Too Sour! (esp. w' spaghetti sauce) = sugar

Too salty = throw in a clean peeled potato. The potato soaks up the salt. You can cut it up into chunks.

Chili = anything for spicy foods, also cocoa powder (maybe a teaspoon or two.). Cinnamon - Cincinnati style chili has cinnamon!

Today has not been a good day. I couldn't sleep last night, and ended up resolving to go back to wrestling.

Coffee

Welll....

It's Professional Wrestling, so it's kinda WWE-ish.

But since we're British... It's a bit different. We hit harder.

Thing is, it's been years since I was in the ring... And I was really awful. I'm not entirely sure why I want to go back. Oh well!

Oh! Got it. And, ow.

If you ever come to the states, my big bro knows the Wild Samoans, kinda-sorta. Their gym's in Allentown, PA. They tried to get my bro to wrestle b/c he's a big doood, but he wasn't up for it. I hear that it's a good gym, and they're good people.

***Edit: Those needles are sweeet.

I actually almost ended up doing a Samoan gimmick for a while.

There's not a whole lot of Asian gimmicks available... And significantly less so without martial arts being involved.

ladyjanewriter
10-26-2007, 09:45 PM

And, yeah. The gimmick thing must be kinda limiting? Er, evil knitting needles OF DOOM! Yeah, that's it. Thereyago.

The funny thing is, we used to drive past the training center on the way to the Lehigh Valley Mall, and I didn't know it was there. There's a Salvation Army store and a bowling alley nearby.

***Edit:

Couldn't you just portray a manager? With a mohawk? And then someone could slam a chair over your head every once in awhile, or pile-drive your head into a post.

If my memory's right, Afa runs World Xtreme Wrestling.

But like I said, it's different over here. We're still much more wrestling based and less character based (not to say we have no characters, but we don't have the swish production, so we need to work harder on the in-ring product to sell the show) than the US.

And we hit harder, too.

Yes, it looks like you're right! I had to wikipedia it. My bro had nothing but good things to say about Afa. He sounds really real.

The Wild Samoans were inducted into the wrestling hall of fame this year as well.

But yeah, we hit harder, and we have a longer tradition of chain and technical wrestling. The best Technical wrestling schools can trace their roots back to Bill Riley's Snakepit school. But we're talking ages and ages ago, now.

Anyway, part of the reason I quit in the first place was because I knew too much about the wrestling stuff. The trivia. It really didn't help.

ladyjanewriter
10-26-2007, 10:09 PM
X-D Aaaand I would have to do a lot of research to follow that argument.

However - If you ever move to the States, and consider training at the Wild Samoan Training Center - the Lehigh Valley is definitely within driving distance of NYC and Philly, and is a long day's trip to Washington, DC. That's one thing I should have taken more advantage of when I was on the east coast (but I was afraid to drive. I'm an idiot.).

I just got finished a "take-home test" and it was hard. I still don't know what it is talking about. The teacher at my school rely on the books to much, they figure what ever they don't teach we will go home a read until we do, they thing is they don't tell us what to read. They just expect us to know.

My 6th grade band teacher made up stories to keep us entertained. We always had to pick A or B, then she'd tell us what would happen.
One time there was a room full of red jello..no ceiling. No walls. Just jello. I had so much fun in that class...*sigh* I miss sixth grade.

Does anyone here listen to Brand New much? I've recently become addicted to them. XD

It snowed today...! Just a little bit while I was at lunch. Hee, my friends and I are already fantasizing what we'd do with a snow day...which is probably not going to happen. I mean, it's Minnesota, we don't have snow days unless A] school doors are frozen shut, B] it's way too icy for buses to run, C] there's an actual blizzard, or D] a ridiculous amount of snow collected overnight.

I told my guyfriend he was cute today [because of something he said] and he seemed like he felt pretty awkward after that. XD Whoopsies..

Yea, it annoys me when people try to kiss everyones a-double snakes so they can be "perfect". I trully do not believe in "perfectness". Everything earthly has a flaw.
*EDIT*
On another topic, I am quite sad; or melancholy if you will.
1. I will not get to attend the high school I wosh to attend in the 10th grade. They no longer accept 10th graders into the Magnet School.

2. I was informed that my parental units are planning to move to Georgia, it is not that I don't want to move. I just do not want to move to Georgia (No offense Georgians)

3. I've not had anything to sew, since I got my sewing machine execpt a extra strap of denim, and a small section of khaki pants into a bag to hold my thread. I am actually afraid that I'll mess up and ruin the fabric.
Enough with my complain, somebody out there has it 10x worse than me.

Somebody needs to pay attention to you at school. You are one deep-thinking kid!

Do you have an adult (mom, dad, etc) that can go stomp into the guidance counselor's office and raise a stink? You need someone like that in your corner (I speak from experience).

And that Aqua-Dots story is driving me CRAZY!!! That chemical is dangerous, how dare they put it into a kid's toy!!!

Why thank you, Ladyjane. I always knew I was special, Lol. Most of the time, I am my own parents, I often go to the administrations myselfs; I don't have enough time to wait for somebody to do it for me; but it usually doesn't work because I am a kid. So lately I've been writing these e-mails to them, through my mom. I actually write them and send them, I just get her permission to use her name; so it appear I have a parent on my side. My latest e-mail was about how Kane is giving people detention to make them clean her classroom and wash overheads. She ignored the e-mail and haven't gotten back to me yet. So I am now taking it to the board.

okay, the weirdest thing happened at my school two days ago--

a car that looked like this:
http://www.michigan-experience.com/wp-content/redbullcar.jpg

drove onto our campus (my school has a road going through it) and two girls came out of it and started handing out red bulls to students! when the principal told them to get off the campus, all they had to do was go about twenty feet down the road, and students just had to walk off campus to get one.

Not as much as Relentless, though. Relentless is my anti-drug.

Not a fake zipper, it's just a closed zipper - the kind of thing you get on cushions, where the two ends are sealed, and the middle opens.

kate

Or maybe she means that it doesn't open at BOTH ends, just ONE end? Maybe she was looking for a zipper that opens on either end.

I spent so long getting the hang of knitting. I think got it now though. I need to get thicker needles. I randomly grabbed 6s and they are a bit thinner than I would like. I'm making a scarf first, then maybe fingerless gloves, or just a tube with holes. Haven't figured out how to make a tube yet though..

kate

I just made myself a pair of fingerless gloves. I knitted in a round with my double pointed needles from the bottom up to where I wanted the thumb hole to be and then knitted back and forth for ten rows and then knitted in the round again for a few more inches. Really, really easy. I did a 1x1 rib stitch (knit one, purl one over and over again every row, so all the knits were on top of each other and all the purls were on top of each other.) You could also knit up to where you want the thumb hole to be and then bind off 10 or so stitches and then when you get back around to that spot cast on 10 or so stitches. Just makes a different shaped hole.

That makes sense, except the purling part, which I have yet to learn.

I saw some pictures of bendy needles. I might give those a try. They seem pretty interesting.

It'll be a while before I get to gloves though. At my rate, I'll have my scarf ready for next year's winter :(

You have to be careful with petroleum jelly and never put it on a burn that is fresh. It will trap the heat into the wound causing more damage... Best thing to do when you first burn yourself is to run the wound under cold water and then when it has cooled put on aloe - it feels really nice to put aloe on a burn and then blow on it - it gets really cool. I burn myself allll the time. :(

Personally, I tend to put zam-buk on a wound.

Any wound.

It's a pretty cool South African eucalyptus-based jelly.

Once, I set my hand on fire. Well, a finger at least. I put Zam-Buc and a sticking plaster on it.

It disappoints my friends because I'm like "I set my hand on fire." and they're like "Yeah?" and I show them the hand, but it doesn't really look any different.

As I remember correctly, I was making pasta in a tomato sauce with chicken and... Hot dogs? Something like that.

My friend once was making something with melted cheese and spilled boiling cheese down her leg and got severe burns and had to get skin from her butt grafted onto her leg. Ack! I burn myself a lot but fortunately I've never done anything that bad...

I might be getting a guitar and guitar lessons for christmas?
My parents don't know I'm atheist, so does it make it wrong to still get presents for christmas? I don't think so, because I've gotten them all th other years. To not get them would be like a punishment for my religion. Mabe I should call it something different.

I think that Christmas for many people has come away from the religious part of it. Many people just see it as a time to thank your family and friends and give them gifts for being so great! So, no, I don't think it's wrong to still get presents.

I think it's still fine to get presents on Christmas-- the media has pretty much killed the religious part of Christmas... I mean, c'mon, what does Santa have to do with Jesus? Besides the beard...
