i've been meaning to ask my fellow treadheads actually...which sewing machine brand do you think is best?I ve used Singer only,so i dont know anything about other brands.
Ask 5 people that question and you'll get about 7 answers.
I know I've weighed in a bit over on the "Sewing Machine Purchase Tips!" thread, as have a number of other Threadheads who have had good advice to give on the subject.

I don't know why, but I ended up laughing uncontrollably at some kids' cartoon when someone yelled "get off the stage, no one likes you"
It still makes me laugh.
but then again, I laughed for weeks after I heard "I'm so angry I feel like I've been raped...in the face!" from Hamlet 2.
Maybe its just my twisted sense of humour.

I feel so proud of my student (as well as myself). Since 3 years ago she joined the swim team and hasn't been able to dive properly until now (she dove like a cat (her mother's words)). I, even though I haven't been coaching this year, did a set of lessons with her to hopefully get her to dive better. Well tonight, being the last lesson, she did it perfectly!! Off the starting block too!! I feel sooo great and it really makes me miss coaching but reminds me why I decided to become a teacher... Now when she goes to the swim meet this weekend she can shave a few seconds off of her times :D

ah..unfortunately there is always a teacher who wants to take out his/her issues on a student...i'm telling you, those people should be anything else but teachers.
hope you get some justice there and she stops bugging you..otherwise,you should think of a clever, snappy retort to give her next time she insults you..but not being insultive at same time(in a profound way...hehe..)that's what i'd do,at least.sometimes you gotta play their game..

I had a vice-principle that would actually tell kids to drop out because they wern't going to become anything and they'd never graduate.
I was on her good side, but I heard of lots of people who she told to just drop out.

Unfortunately often there are teachers that are tottal assholes like that. there was one in my jr. high then a few in my high school. the best way to beat them is to just beat them at there own game. make them look stupid or as stupid as you can. they hate that. but then again you might just end up making them lash out even more. best thing atually you can do is make sure you can prove that there setting you apart and picking on you. you could extort them with a threat of reporting em to the super intenedent.

Some of you may know [personal friends] That I am really really short..
For those who do, you may also know about the little story when I thought that I was 4'11" my teenage life [I won't grow taller anymore] and some b!@#tch nurse said, "I'm sorry honey, but you're two inches shorter than you think you are." >.>
So for the past 8 years or so I've learned to accept and actually love the fact that I'm only 4'9"
Well, Heart & I were at the DMV today when I noticed the height scale by the door. I stood in front of it, and even made a joke about growing an inch or so, when Heart pointed out that I was 4'11". So I checked again and sure enough I was. HA! that nurse lied to me!!!

@Miss Bi0: Seven and our roomate are tall and huge, so I always feel short...even tho I'm 5'3. That's average hight? Or short?
I'm happy with my hight. I love putting my face on Sevens chest when he hugs me. Aww;)
I feel like everyone around me is a giant. Like when I we met peglegparadidle I was standing in the middle of everyone and I felt so tiny haha! But I love being short, I'm very comfortable with it. I don't have to duck from tree branches & small doors, I just walk right through :)

This is a change from what everyone else has been talking about, but what do you do when your brother, who has been with you through extensive travelling, bullying at school and etc moves out, a good friend of the family dies of cancer, your hours at work get cut, you have braces at age 19, you don't have enough money for college OR university, and are too depressed to even make anything new to post on TB?

Iirc, laptops are immune to such a thing. My desktop has been through about a billion power outages and its still kicking. So.. no idea if its true or not.
power outages are just the sudden stop of power. It's like if you accidentally steped on your power bar and turn it of. Nothing will happen, maybe you'll lose what you were working on.
BUT during lightening storms the possibility of lighting hitting important power supplies is always there. This extra electricity (cause by pure electricity ie: Lightning) would cause a power surge.
TOO much power suddenly attacking your computer will fry it.
That's why we have a power bar with surge protection, if there is a sudden influx of power it'll fry the bar before it gets to anything that may be plugged in.
Not all power bars are like this though. I'd rather spend $30 on a power bar than $500+ on a new compy.

Sudden power outages on your computer used to be bad for them. I don't know if it's still bad nowdays. But like when you just press the off button or unplug it it is/was bad for computers. The reason being the heads or something drop immediately on the hard drive which over time can damage it. (the little sound you hear when you hold down the power button is the hard drive stopping abruptly) Which is why you are supposed to shut down your computer the correct way. NOW i'm not sure if all of that is relevent today or if it's something engineers have worked out over time (like screen burn in) But I still try to not use the button to turn it off or just unplug it. (or in this case use it in a storm that could cause a power outage)

The power going out abruptly is bad in a few ways. Data being accessed from the drive(s) may become corrupted. The power supply could fry and take other components with it, etc (if it's a surge that causes the outage). It's not something that has been "fixed" yet, and I doubt it ever will be. If system files are being overwritten, then the power going out might really screw everything up. The only way I can see it being fixed is if the system constantly copies everything that's being done to a RAM history file on the hard drive (kind of like when you put a machine in hibernation mode). The thing is that it would just take too many resources and your hard drive would have to constantly be active, reading things out of memory and copying them. It would suck up considerable amounts of power and make a hard drive's life span much shorter.
They'd have to pretty much rethink how things are done.

The craziest thing happen this morning!
I was driving back from dropping off Jr at school and Seven
just happen to be driving back from work and was right in front
of me.
All of a sudden I see this truck coming down the hill on my right hand side,
it was on the sidewalk!!!
I was like WTF!! I noticed a man on the floor gettin up from the
floor too. I was like "Mmhh...no one is driving that truck!!"
Omg!!!!
The Cal-trans man had fallen off his truck picking up some
signs off the sidewalk (lazy ass) and lost his balance and
freakin fell off!
The truck passed me and barely missing a jogger and a fire
hydrant! Seven stops the car, makes a U-turn and drives towards the
truck...I think he wanted to catch it or something! I stopped the traffic
behind me cuz I didn't know where this runaway truck was gana stop.
And finally it stopped! It crashed onto a transformer, cutting all electricity to the
whole block!
Great!! No one was hurt, thank God! But the guy was in big time shock!
He said he was get fired for what he did.
100 degrees and no A.C.!!! Great!
Finally! Power is back!
And that's my lil adventure if today.

A regular ol' cheapo pipe. If that's what you meant lol. If you meant how was the trip...then my God...it was so weird. The first trip was like this star-cookie-cutter shaped current was moving against me and going into me, as if stuff was going into my mouth to make a mold of my insides or something. Really weird. After the initial crazy effects wore off, everyone's skin looked like it was a dark orange glow. Just their skin, that's all. My motor functions were fine and I could think straight...it's just that their skin was orange.
The second trip...we were sitting at a translucent glass table, and underneath were the bars holding up the glass. When it started to kick in, the bars became the edges of tall buildings, and the frosty glass was like clouds so I felt like I was in the sky. I fell in and out of the trip, it was crazy. Like, I came out and my friend Cisco decided to say "are your legs cut off?" and I replied like "Don't say that, I'll start to think it!" and then bam, I looked down and the way I was sitting made it look like my legs were cut off 'cause I could only see the top half of them. The table started to spin and it was like it was through my legs....damn..it was weird. I think the weirdest part was that it was less of me actually seeing all the stuff as opposed to me feeling it...it all felt so crazy. Like the first one when that current was going through me it felt SO real.
Creepy.

It's the computer screen you sit in front of.
It is controlled behind the scenes by an A.I.
An artificial intelligence which will collectively bring us all to the screen one day. All at the same time.
And then, we'll see it.
Our lives flashing before our guilt.

It won't show up in drug tests because, well, they don't look for LEGAL substances in drug tests. :p We had some left so we smoked it with a few friends tonight. MAN...it's weird because while it feels "fun" tripping on it, at the same time, it's like you want it to stop. It's good that the effects don't last long, otherwise I would probably hate it. The fact that it has zero addictive properties makes it better, too. I didn't have to worry about becoming addicted or something like that.

Ok, so I am not sure exactly how to use those eyeshadows that come in 4s. I know the lighter one is a base shadow for your whole eyelid and a darker one is for shadowing but i'm unsure how to use them properly. I've been unsuccessful in finding a tutorial on youtube (simply because I don't think i'm using the right keyword). I'm hoping one of my friends know how to use it properly.

So my bf and I talk about marriage every now and then. The last time it came up I was joking around saying he should pull me up on one of his improv shows and propose to me with a RingPop.
This last time though he said something really weird. He said he didn't think he'd get to propose the way he wanted to. And I asked why and he said it was because I would be moving.
I'm going to College in a week and I have to move to a different town.. the thing is in about a month he's planning to move down as well so we don't have to be so far apart..
So I've figured out what he wants to do is in a location where we are now and I suggested we could just come back here.. I mean all of our friends are pretty much here so we would be visiting anyway.
Then he said something about that not being fair if I had schoolwork that I had to do and it being time sensitive.
So now I'm just insanely curious about what it is he wants to do. And of course he won't tell me on the hope he'll get to do it that way.

I'll be turning 25 soon.. and he just turned 30. There's just a lot of 17 and 18 year olds that I've seen ask if they can come up on stage or be helped to propose to their significant others at conventions or during the improv shows my bf preforms in.
I don't care if I get proposed to in front of a large crowd or not. In fact I'd probably prefer not. I just think it would be funny if I got a RingPop.

thanks tany and addie. it's alright though, it's been expected for a really long time so i'm not exactly sad about it. i just disagree with the idea that in order to appreciate and remember a person, you have to go look at their dead body and sit around with a bunch of crying relatives and strangers being miserable. there are better things to remember than that...not to mention i've just gotten back to school and wouldn't enjoy a trip to mississippi right now. i'm pretty sure it will piss my brother off too. i didn't go to my grandma's funeral either.

I am not great at going to funerals... the first one I went to was my friend's last august. It was terrible yet beautiful at the same time simply because of the overwhelming support from all our friends. Afterwards we all had a party in celebration of his life. That's the way it should be done. It was a great time. I only hope my life is celebrated in such a way when I go.

I was shopping and I bumped into a vest. I apologized thinking it was a person. My mother laughed at me.

Nooo! I refuse to believe it isn't a Chupacabra.
Actually, I have no idea what the thing is.
But it's definitely not a dog and it's legs are longer than a normal coyotes. So who knows. It may be a new species.

Tonight someone told me I should be a necklace model. It was strange, but I suppose it's because of my rather large collar bones.

I read somewhere that birth defects can cause animals to behave and look like this creature that is familiar to no one. Gosh I can hardly remember now where I heard or read it so I may be kinda wrong too.
