I can read Greek, I just don't know what I'm saying.

I'm not talking Greek written in english letters. I could go to Greece and read the signs out loud and I have no idea what they mean. Unless it's blatantly obvious.
A friend and I memorized the Greek alphabet in highschool so we could pass notes in class they noone could read them.
When a friend in college was learning Greek I could read their flash cards lol. That's when I found out.
Being officially the only greek person in this forum (unless another one shows up) i can also say that Greek is quite easy to read in comparison to English,but the rest of it is hell.Especially ancient Greek-they teach it to us at school.And after five years of studying it,i still can't understand a single phrase.It's madness, really

Ok, I've been wondering for a while now so if I may ask, why do you have to go to court regularly?


I am an attorney for Teen Court in my area. It;s a diversion program for 1st time offenders who plead guilty so they stay out of the juvenile justice system.

2 teens are prosecution and defense, and a jury made up entirely of teens decides the sentence. There is no jail time involved.

No I am not a criminal. Or, at least not the kind that would land me there.

We usually do shoplifting (9 times out of 10 it's from Wal-Mart or Bealls), domestic violence, possession of marijuana, etc. Occasionally, we have interesting cases, such as possession of an undersized lobster (not kidding, I prosecuted that one for fun).

I love that spring has sprung (or at least is springing) but now I have to clean up my yard and mow the grass. I think that will be my project for tomorrow evening after work.

Last night my sons dad called Jr and wanted to talk to me. Apperently he started telling me he had a mini stroke and went to the hospital. I guess he had a "near death experience" and started telling me how much he trully loves me and always will blah blah blah!
He "now" wants to be closer to his son and wants to be a better person and blah blah blah...I do feel bad for him cuz he is after all my sons dad and I don't want my son to suffer for his dead beat dad.
I didn't know what to respond to him...it was awkward yo.

From my personal experience, these epiphanies don't last. They want to be a good person for a while and then it is too easy to slip back into bad habits. The truly hard part is figuring out how much to protect your kid and how much to allow. Kids, in most cases need some contact with their parents (even if they are crappy parents). They need to know where they came from. My kids' dad is not a bad guy but his has no ambition, doesn't like to work and is incredibly self centered. He has visitation with them every other weekend. I don't like that his attitude wears off on the kids when they come home but it is important to them and to him that they get to spend time together. I just hope in the long run that they make good choices when they grow up. I'd love to find someone to be a good, positive male role model for my girls. Good luck, it sounds like you have some seriously hard thinking to do. Whatever you decide, make sure your ex, does things on mutually agreed upon terms and keep an open dialogue with Jr.

I live in Maryland. It generally stays within that temperature range all throughout the year. Except during summer. But I wouldn't know.
I do not leave the house during the summer.
I can only leave the house if I'm going to be in a air-conditioned car within 5 seconds and then into an air-conditioned house or building.

Well, the thing is, I'm taking trig as an elective because my parents want me to "stay in the math mind set", but I don't need it to graduate. Yes Kim your so right. Coming from a devorced family myself I know it feels to be left out. I don't want to make the mistakes that my mom made with us. She talked so much crap about my dad and it made me hate her for a while. In some instances she wouldn't let us go with our dad for the weekend and was extremely violent to him.
Now with my ex I try so hard not to say nagative things in front of Jr. It's so hard when he calls him once every two weeks and doesn't pay childsupport at all. It's been more than 3 years now is perfectly ok with Seven raising his kid ...it's not Sevens responsibility though he does it cuz he loves Jr.
Jrs dad is an alcoholic and smokes pot alot...he's also very violent when he drinks and yes he has no job. So when he calls and remembers that he has a 12 year old boy and wants him for the weekend ...it's so hard for me to say yes! My sons loves him and sees no wrong in him.
I feel like I have to let him go and spend time with his dad otherwise when he grows up and he remembers I didn't let him go, Jrs going to hate me for that! And I can't live with that.
I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. :(

Finished this thursday! I can't wait. This woman who is replacing me is just.... ever have people that just rub you the wrong way? For almost no reason?
Well she's rather pushy and stuff, and just takes over. I got in to her tossing stuff out of my office and all "her-ifying" it.
Didn't help that I was already in a bad mood because no one came to pick me up. I couldn't get ahold of anyone to pick me up. And I didn't have an office key so I couldn't even just try to find my own way.
Then I finally get there 20 mins late and they are already there! No one was answering the bloody phone!:mad::mad::mad:
They are always late to top it off, so if I had gotten there on time I would have been left waiting outside for who knows how long.

And i'm here at Coffee Matters studying for french, classes are over on wednesday and my first final is on the 13th then I am done for the summer on the 18th!! I hate Spring in WV. On Saturday it was almost 80F (27C) and today it is 33F (0C) and snowing. The weather on the East Coast in the center(VA, WV, DC, PA) fluctuates wildly any time of year but particularly in the Spring. I'll be glad when summer approaches so at least things are a bit more stable. We have a running joke "If you don't like the weather in West Virginia, wait 15 minutes." It isn't quite true but in the spring it's pretty close.

I've had many planters having worked at a pool for the last 3 years :\
Not nice. They are wicked to get rid of too. I had to go to the doc and get a special cream to put on them and then put duct tape over that, but I really had to make sure the duct tape stuck well. I have none now, but when I got one, they spread and I had like 5 on one foot. Gross :\ I feel like a dirt bag! hahaha. It just so happens that when I leave my sandals at one end, then I need to get out at the other... gah. At least mine are gone! Mine didn't bleed though, not that I noticed.
