I'm working at this office on a term covering for this woman who is on mat leave. She's pregnant again!!! So she needs to come back to work for 18 weeks or 630 hours, to qualify for another mat leave.
So she thinks she's going to kick me out (said in much nicer terms) and i'm going to reorentate her on all the work that I've even though she left me with a mess.
But the boss and Exec director havn't made any decisions about the matter.
She's most likely be placed on on-call work, *crosses fingers* and I won't have to leave till the end of my term.
Which I'm really hoping because I need the extra money to save up for when I move.

Ok, So I got my contract termination 2 week notice. Turns out she can't go oncall because she needs a specific paycheck for EI benifits. GRRRR. I can go oncall, which was the second letter. An offer for On-call Worker position. That does mean I can move back to my old appartment. hmmmm, which would make things easier and get an on-call position with the office near that city.

I have 10 periods a day. (9:15-5:00)

today was so exhausting! i stayed up late last night finishing my proposal and i had to get up early to read a paper about MAOA and trepidation in mice for my 930 neuro class. then i had to go home and change into "weather" clothes for my botany field trip, for which rain was expected. right we were to expect it, as it rained buckets on us for a solid two hours, and even making it a point to hail for a good ten minutes in addition to the rain. our write-in-the-rain paper even started getting hopelessly wet.

my inlaws got on the lds church website to see what "ward" we belong in (while we were in the hospital having the baby, to let ppl know that we had a baby so they can offer help with meals and "stuff" also she thinks that we need more/different friends)...and then called them. every day since Friday we've been contacted either by phone or ppl randomly stopping by to check in on us, we've been "inactive" since like June ish for various reasons....and then with the move in Aug we effectivly dropped off the church's radar...we've been ratted out!!

I have my Oncology rotation today. I'm somewhere between slightly nervous and dreading it. Cancer scares the be-jesus out of me and one of best friend's husband gets chemo at the facility that I'm going to today. Luckily he had his treatment yesterday and I don't have to see him. I'm fine with him and his illness as long as I don't have to see him actually receiving the chemo treatment. I think I would lose it then. He is so sweet to me and we graduated high school together. It is so hard to watch them go through this especially since his prognosis isn't really good and they have 2 little boys. All I can do is just be there for them.

i'm also nearing doneness with my research proposal. what's awesome is that it only takes up 3 pages of the 5 page limit. i'm becoming such a pro at condensing my science writing! i guess i could go and write more, but if i'm not careful i might end up with needless wordage, which reviewers quite dislike. maybe i'll bring it up to 4 pages plus my 2 pages of figures. i could talk about the use of model organisms, or the relationship to visual systems in animals...or how about why we care about eyespots in one celled algae? i think i'll go nap.

I told her that I've been sewing for almost a year and I was making two prom dresses ...
She said "oh! Well, you'll be one of my advanced students...probably one of the most advanced I've ever had... and instead of giving you 4 projects that the other students are doing, I would give you more challenging projects. I'm not gonna limit your creativity"

Here I am, finally, back from my unanounced hiatus.

Here I am, finally, back from my unanounced hiatus.


My dear, dear threadbangers. I have been away for too long.

After nominating myself to be a mod, I proceed to not log on for a few months. I know. Dreadfully irrisponsible. I feel pretty bad about it.


The fact is, life got extremely busy & something had to give. I decided that that something wasn't going to be school, so thusly I gave up a large portion of my internet usage.

I really have missed all of you guys immensly. I've never even met any of you in real life, but I truly did miss you. I went into Express one day & immidiatley thought of Saintlike. I thought about Jsedai & Hippie when I wanted to make my own laundry soap. I really missed you all!


So, here I am. I'm back!
