Finally got internet back at the flat. I hate being bankrupt broke.

But thanks to student loans 'for computer material' I got a brand new mac mini. Sweet baby of mine! And almost 1000$ left from the loan, which will make me live for a month. Good thing I don't believe in laptops! (don't need one I mean...)

Miss G I had wondered if you had dropped off the face of the Earth. Welcome back.

I start clinicals for this semester today. Yikes. I will be at the hospital for 8 hours and I have to do a short paper on ever patient I work with. Ugg. This semester is gonna suck.

2. From a compulsive student to another : good luck with your patients and that guy you can't stand. My semester is gonna be not so bad I think, though I'm redoing my nemesis class...

Money, Money, Money!

I need more money! More money!
If I have any hope of getting my permit next month, I need to pull $50 dollars from my ass.
If I want an iPod touch, which is looking very unlikely, I'll have to pull atleast a $100.
OMG! Everytime I turn around, I need more money.
Hmm! Thought of more! If I want to start an Etsy anytime soon, that's more money.
If I wanna take my AP Test, I need to find $86, but that I have under control. I'm going to fill out an AP Reduction Form!
So much stuff I want/need, but not enough money. I want a job, but I'm about 3 months too young! 3 months!

My weighted GPA is a 4.0
But my mother is still bitching about the random C I got in EPA.
It's not even a real class if you ask me, he babbles on and on about his stupid obession with space and then randomly expects us to know engineering crap. Whatever.

Like I understand, its bad that I got a C, but really though?! The A's in my important classes mean nothing?!
Sometimes I feel like pointing out the differences between us and telling her about the little room she has to judge anyone. At all. Let alone her son that turned out pretty good by his own accord, despite the crappy situations hurled at me since day one.
Then she has the nerve to ask why I want to move so far away from them.
Sadly, misery loves company. And just about everyone in my immediate family is miserable. So drag me down too!

Yea, I know, that C would have really screwed it up, cept I got a A in AP World History, so it balanced it out.

I lost almost 15 pounds in 1 1/2 -2 weeks. (Too much, I know, but oh well)
But it seems like I gained 5 of it back, I don't even know why, I haven't changed any eating habits. Winter is wreaking havoc on me! But I gotta lose weight for Spring time, which is fast approaching!

My body used to have an extremely high metabolism, now as I get older and I don't "play outside" like I used to in Middle School, the weight is piling on, so I had to say STOP! It worked. I've been losing weight at a pretty constant level, clothes fitting better, but I've been hovering around this certain level, so I have to get up and do something when I get a break from myself. Life is hectic, and I'm too fast to throw my hands up in the air and say, "I quit!"

I've done it twice today. It's 10 pm and I haven't started on my Spanish, haha.
I've noticed my TB posts are always long and everybody elses is always usually short, I'm starting to think I talk too much.

saintlike_ontheoutside
02-10-2009, 02:17 AM
Haha, I'm wierd. One minute, I'll suddenly be shy and only talk to people I know, and the next minute, I'll walk up to a random person and engage in a convo. Yea, me and my friends went to the Movies one time and found it our duty to greet people as they walked in. So I stood their for the longest time, waving at couples as they walked in, not many waved back...

Yup, sure. You run ALL the way to Maryland and we'll run around my house a couple times and then you run all the way back. Haha. Their is a track not far from where I live, but, their was the invention of the treadmill. I'm more likely to stay in and run on the treadmill, then go outside and run on a track. Besides, I'm more of a jump-rope person. Burns 300 calories in 15 minutes.

i think swaps work best on a case by case basis. if everyone's in direct contact with the person they're swapping with, then you're less likely to flake. it's like calling for help in a crowd of people. you gotta point to two specific people, because 1) no one's going to volunteer, they assume someone else will and 2) each person can hold the other person accountable so they don't just run off. course that's not as relevant now that there are cell phones. none of this is relevant, really. like me and goofi are both swapping with tany, and now we're all sick!

i need birth control like whoa. i need some help from my mama's here. my mom is extremely conservative and kind of aloof when it comes to my health. i used to have stomach problems, she took me to a doctor after 5 months of chronic stomach aches. i used to lock myself in my room/bed because my cramps can get so so bad. it was like torture. when i cried from the pain she'd tell to me get a grip. i know some of you here have history with birth control, what arguments can i use to convince my mom to let me get birth control? my cramps are torture. my body becomes sore. and i get pretty bad headaches. sometimes hot flashes/chills too. and don't forget the mood swings. if she doesn't let me get it, i'll turn 18 in 4 months and i'll just get it myself.

yea...there's noting like bleeding for a month. ah the joys of motherhood.Totally. Nature sucks sometimes.

Nature: Hey! You had the baby, congratulations! I bet you're knackered now, right?
Me: Too right, I feel like someone just gave my lower half a kicking too.
Nature: Excellent! And just to perk you up at this magical time, you're going to have no chance to sleep and recover because your new bundle of joy wants feeding, you're going to bleed profusely out of your already mangled lady bits for a few weeks, your belly will look like an old balloon for the foreseeable future and, just to put the cherry on the cake, every time you pee, it'll feel like someone spraying your bits with sulphuric acid. Enjoy!

Boyfriend: So, when do you want to start trying for our second child?
Me: *stare*

the first step is to get to a gyno...and get a full check up...these are...INTERESTING...LOL let your dr know about the cramps and such and if there is excessive bleeding. if she's worried that you want it to become sexually active then you can A) talk her down B) point out that you could be doing that anyway C) go around her and find a free clinic to go to instead
if she refuses then I'd just wait the couple of months mroe...
also you can point out that they give women who've had hysterectomy's bc as a form of horomone replacement, and that it's used for other things as well. (I have a friend who uses it because without it she's kinda nutso, and has NO libedo...she's had a hysterctomy) my sister uses them for acne control...LOL...and I use them TO get preg..not the other way round...LOL
your regular family practice dr should be able to do just a yearly exam.you don't realy need a GYN perse... also if yours is able/willing to do it he/she can't tell your mom about why...or what...even minors have paitent confidentiality.

yeah, i didn't think i HAD to go to a gyn. we were just at the family doctor a few days ago and i asked my mom what she thought about letting me get birth control and she said she wanted me to go to a gyn first. and i've been asking her to bring me to a gyn for a while, but she insists on getting one our insurance supports and doesn't bother looking for said gyn.
Either suggest that she takes you to her gyno since she knows that it is cover by insurance or wait the 4 months till your birthday and go by yourself. You are covered under her insurance while you are in school or you can always go the free clinic route but if you have that much pain you really need to see the Gyn.

you could always call your dr up and ask for another apt and just tell your mom it's a follow up....he can't tell her any different.

the thing is i don't like our family doctor anyway. lol. when my mom finally brought me to her for my said stomach problems, she told me to just monitor my diet, which didn't help, and she didn't follow up with my monitoring anyway. i've also had to take a blood test for her twice because she lost record/doesn't remember taking the first test. i don't mind the whole blood through needle and into test tube/bag, but really, how do you lose record of my blood test?

yea...there's noting like bleeding for a month. ah the joys of motherhood.

I don't see why women, and sometimes men, put up with it.

I would make a terrible mother. Growing up in the school of hard knocks, I would let the kid burn himself to let him know why he SHOULD play with matches.

Child services would be there with three weeks of my giving birth.

I sympathise with her pain, I fainted for the same reasons on several occasions and I believe I know what a nightmare it can be.

But she won't do anything but complain about it. She might as well wait until she's out of mom's jurisdiction if she can't be bothered with finding a gyno or going to a free clinic. All she can do until then is endure the pain and take some painkillers.

you should just go to your mom's gynecologist. i mean, surely she has one. i do think that you should see a gynecologist, even if it's at a planned parenthood, to get birth control. you're trying to treat a health issue here, and you need the appropriate doctors to be involved. just like birth control isn't just for sexual activity, gynecologists aren't just for getting pregnant or not getting pregnant. they're responsible for the health of your whole reproductive system, including the overly painful cramps. even though the doctor probably would say to just go on birth control, it's never a good idea to bypass the professionals, especially when you're bringing medication into the picture.

yeah my mom was so against bc pills (cause this would give me a lisence to have sex) that she took me in to get prescribed pain meds so I could function, this led to an addiction problem and now I don't take any narcotics because withdrawl is NOT fun, also if I for some reason (like after having surgery) need some stronger meds dh keeps control of them and counts them and stuff..so fun fun fun
you could point out to your mom that if you don't do something to correct your periods you could start taking meds for them and that WILL lead to problems, with all kinds of stuff.

to keep the fish from drying out I soaked it in a brine first for about an hour ( just a simple one of salt, sage, garlic and onion pwdr) brines are AWESOME I use them for pork and poultry too..keeps them nice and moist.
then I just threw some fresh lemon zest and thyme and fresh black ppr into my butter and mashed it all up...YUM.

i've never tried using brines in my cooking. the way i make my salmon is marinate it in my teriyaki sauce (alas, it is from a jar, but nonetheless quite good) for at most a few hours. then i pat the salmon fillets dry, but reduce the marinate in a sauce pan. then i quickly cook the outside on a grill so there's some texture. then throw it in a low oven with the reduced marinate on top for 10 minutes. that way, the outside is cooked, and you don't have to worry about the fish drying up (which usually results in too much time on the grill/pan) because of the low oven temp, which cooks it perfectly.

i've made myself hungry. i can't hear my typing over my stomach.

Yep, they do require to have the CSA logo on them. And you have different classes of security, but the puncture thing is quite a standard. But my needs require something basic : chemicals, toe and heel covering...
